A super duper party!!

Be prepared for lots of pictures (and several outfit changes from bat girl).

We couldn't have asked for better weather for Josie's superhero party. It was loads fun and it's fair to say that I'm officially tired.

First of all, I have to share a super cheap way to make capes (without sewing). I was wandering around the Dollar Tree and came across this red table runner. I brought it home, cut it in half, added a few embellishments with hotglue and then used safety pins to attach it. I made one for my father and one for Emma.

Super Grandpa even jumped over buildings!

I've been hinting all week that Chris was going to build a bat cave and he pulled it off using a patio umbrella, black tarp and lots of clamps.

Chris even created a special computer for the bat cave complete with a special red emergency button.

Everyone wore their superhero attire at Josie's party.

My mother came through with another incredible birthday cake.

There were several secret missions completed.

Overall, it was a super duper party.

I have to end this post by giving my husband a HUGE Father's Day shout-out.

Thank you for all you do.

You make MY life and our girls lives pretty darn amazing!!

Dad...you're pretty super amazing too!

XOXO

Superhero Saturday!

I'm so pleased to report that Josie did amazingly well with all her dental procedures on Thursday. She hardly complained about her mouth, considering all that was done.

She is one tough little girl.

And for everyone that's asked me if is she as sweet as she looks in her pictures.
The answer is "yes"
She has an amazing positive spirit.
We are soooo blessed.

Saturday is the BIG day for Josie's family superhero party. As if the superhero tree wasn't enough, here are a few sneak peeks of other decorations...

I found this superhero identity packet (click HERE to download) on the FamilyFun website.

I picked up a couple of sandpails at Dollar Tree and covered them with scanned images from the superhero comics I thrifted last week.

We'll use them for holding chips and snacks.

Later, Josie can use the sandpails to store her superhero figurines.

While I was at the Dollar Tree, I also noticed they had quite an assortment of superhero candy.

Between the cake, superman ice cream, & candy...our superheros should be flying high!!

I also hung our extra batman kite above our kitchen island...

...and I found this super heroes music CD at Partycity.

Chris and I have been plotting how to turn the deck off our sunroom into a batcave and we've got some pretty cool ideas in mind (lots of black tarp, strings of lights and a smog/fog machine are included in the design). Let's hope the weather cooperates with our ingenious plans!!

Party ON...

...and have a beautiful weekend
and Father's Day!

XOXO

Father's Day & Dentist Duty!!

Are you ready for Father's Day?

FamilyFun has this nifty Father's Day Crown here.

They also have the instructions for making these super cool lawn mower cupcakes here.

Speaking of cupcakes, Paper Glitter (one of my favorite designers) has these free cupcake toppers for Father's day. You can download the pdf file here.

Check out this adorable FATHERS DAY TABLE styled by Shindig Parties!

Go here to download.

I'm so behind on Father's day gifts (Saturday's superhero party is still taking up too much of my creative energy). My hubby is definitely deserving of something extra special after giving up nearly 9 months to work on the treehouse project.

To top it off, he's taking Josie to her root canal and cavity filling appt late this morning while I'm at work. I'll take over nurse duty in the afternoon, but he's going to see the worst of it at the pediatric dental office. I'm going to owe him BIG time.

What special plans do you have for Father's day?

XOXO
