Feeling very grown up...

After seventeen years of marriage, I am finally the proud of owner of new end tables and a dining room hutch.

I know. It seems silly to blog about furniture, but I've been coveting a hutch or pie safe to store my special dishes for years and years and years. We walked into Talsma furniture to purchase end tables and I found this hutch and fell in love. I'm already plotting how my favorite witches will adorn the top of this hutch at Halloween.

Isn't it divine?

While we're on the topic of home decor, just look at what Chris did for me! He took a few of my favorite pictures of the girls and blew them up to 8x10, converted them to black and white and framed them and hung them on the wall. We're not quite done with the collage, but I'm so happy with how they turned out.

I think we're on a roll with home decorating projects. Getting Josie's room organized last weekend pushed us to get the rest of the house polished up a bit. It's just in time for our fall entertaining schedule (hee hee).

Speaking of entertaining...my Mom's birthday was fun.

The kids enjoyed the pool.

Everyone enjoyed the food.

And we managed to avoid the fallout from a nasty thunder storm with a beautiful rainbow.

I've got a four day work week (can you say...AMEN) and we're squeezing in one last summer vacation that requires traveling. The only hints I'm giving out, is that Harry Potter and a train are involved.

Have a super week, everyone.

  4. Love the hutch and all the pretty stuff inside.
Isn't it funny how you can be 40 and still need to feel "grown up"? I don't know how many times Jeff and I have said that we finally have a "grown up" house. Weird, huh?
Beautiful picture of the clouds too. And the B/W pics of the girls.
