2011 Blizzard & February Desserts

More blizzard pictures will come later. This was taken from our sunroom window at 8pm Tuesday night. Even my University has already canceled classes for Wednesday and that rarely ever happens!!

I hope that you are all safe and warm and protected from the storm.

After Christmas, I mentioned you might want to grab a few miniature candy canes while they are on clearance. Here's a few February desserts for you.

This is our version of a cupcake teacup.

Pleasant Home posted step-by-step instructions for making these Valentine candy cane lollipops here.

And because Chinese New Year celebrations begin this Thursday, I had to include a few Year of the Rabbit dessert ideas too!

XOXO

  3. Ok, now I know why you were urging us to pick up candy canes. Your cupcakes are beautiful! What a fun idea, looks like the girls agree! The wind is howling, and the snow is flying. I don't think I will be going anywhere for awhile! Stay cozy:)

  9. Cupcakes and snow days...A great combination! Thanks for the great cupcake ideas...your teacup idea was much easier than mine!

We received our free stuff from Panda Express yesterday. Her preschool teachers are excited about adding that to their curriculum this month. I am also going to attempt the good fortune cupcakes you featured...She is taking them on Feb. 18. So I will let you know how well they turn out.

Stay warm and safe...and I know that you will fit in some crafting on your snow day!
Many hugs and Happy CNY Eve,
    Cindy

  11. okay, I am loving ALL of these ideas! So wishing I still had some mini-candy canes from Christmas. I will be saving some up next year for sure!! I'm guessing I probably cannot find them anywhere now. With Khloe's birthday coming up on the 8th, all of these would be GREAT fun!

And I love your CNY cakes, too... so fun and festive. I just wish I knew where to locate some of the "Year of the Rabbit" decor?!

  12. These are great!!! I made the felt cupcakes yesterday - Jai and Jorja were so excited!!! I will post photos soon - but have to wait a bit as I made another set for an adoptive friend for her new little girls. :)
I also made some chinese food! Can't wait to surprise Jai and Jorj with these tomorrow for CNY!
If we can ever get out of the house - still iced in in Texas! :) But enjoying this down time!

  13. The treats look yummy, and I especially love how cute the teacup one is, but your daughters are the most scrumptious things in the photos.
