Despite a nasty cough and runny nose, Josie has been fever free for over 30 hours. I took her the doctors this morning (we just can't take any chances with her heart when she runs such high fevers). Her throat, ears and lungs are fine (woo hoo). He doesn't want to prescribe her any medication for now. Let's hope this cold is short-lived. Why is it that Mom's always end up as a human kleenex when their children are sick? Yuck!!! At least she's in better spirits. Leftover Easter candy certainly helps too.
These pictures were taken last Friday when my sister and her boys came to visit us during spring break and we headed to our local zoo.
It was chilly and many of the animals weren't out yet. However, those animals that enjoy brisk West Michigan weather, were very very active.
The lions were playful and one was even chasing birds in the yard.
The grownups enjoyed the indoor buildings (to escape the wind chill) and the kids had fun exploring the tide pool. Josie didn't quite understand why her whole body couldn't go in the tide pool. Isn't this like the Great Wolf Lodge Water Park?
Notice how Josie's body is hanging over the side of the tide pool.
We are all looking forward to going back to the zoo in warmer weather. The sign on Monkey Island indicates that the construction should be done sometime in May. It looks fabulous. We just love visiting the John Ball Zoo.
Here's to hoping for spring-like weather!! Perhaps we'll try that Easter egg hunt later this week. Have a great week. Stay healthy.
I'm so glad Josie is feeling better!! I guess it's our turn now. :p

So sorry Josie has been sick. Thank you for all of your sweet comments on my blog. I will be on the look-out for Mary! :) Your friend from, "Room for at least one more," said you had her email address and could send it to me. Could you? I have followed her blog since she was in China. My email address is: keprunty@aol.com. I'm so glad to see Josie all rose cheeked and healthy (well...except for the yucky cold she has right now). Does Josie need any more surgery, or will she be okay for awhile? You are so sweet to be praying for our Kate. THANK YOU!!!
