Waking up the yard...

I haven't played a huge role in our yard's landscaping since we moved to this house.

I'm the official lawn mower, but beyond pushing the mower and dragging a garden hose around the yard, I've been fairly hands-off. My husband (the former Frank's Nursery & Crafts employee) is too talented to let me ruin his creations, but I know he'd like it if I spent more time beside him in the dirt.

With all his efforts focused on the treehouse lately, I offered to weed the beds this past weekend. Let's just say, I have a whole new appreciation for his plant selections and the work that goes into making our yard so beautiful.

Aren't these baby cardinals so sweet?
They are living right outside our sunroom deck.

This weekend is a huge nursery sale in West Olive. My HUSBAND lives for this weekend. It's kinda like my once-a-month summer Allegan antique market fix. He's got a whole new area around the treehouse to landscape and he's hoping to start creating some new walking paths in the woods. The van is going to be packed with plants and trees. Just you wait!!

If you haven't already entered my birthday giveaway, please be sure to do so here. I'll be drawing a name on 5/30 at 7pm (EST).

Have a splendid Memorial weekend!
It's our 19th wedding anniversary on Sunday.
I'll be antiquing in Allegan.
Chris will be hopefully painting a treehouse.

Get ready Mom and Dad.
Next year...the big 20th anniversary... Chris and I want an overnight without the girls! I think they would love an overnight at your house...hee hee.

XOXO
