New Thrifty Finds...

Never one to miss an opportunity to do some shopping while on vacation, I ventured out to a few of my favorite antique stores while we were away last week. This red toy iron came home with me.

When I picked up these washboards a few weeks back, I decided that I needed to add a few more laundry-related items to my collection.

I quickly filled a shelf with a vintage hand-stitched dish cloth, some doll clothes pins, buttons, spools of thread, and a few special items that my friend Renee from My Vintage Mending gave me.

I still loath doing laundry, but at least I have a cute room.

  11. Wish I had a laundry room instead of a dank basement, but am grateful I have a washer and dryer instead of having to scrub the clothes on an old board! We gotta count our blessings don't we?!

    Yours is very cute indeed.

  25. That is an adorable iron. Every laundry room needs some old vintage goodies, don't you think?

  26. Yes, the cute room will take your mind off your laundry troubles!

    RED OR YELLOW?

    If you have a penchant for red,
    Then scarlet will go to your head;
    But if it is gold
    You’d rather behold,
    Then plant yellow roses instead.

  31. I collect little irons, too! I display them on vintage sleeve boards (ironing boards) on a shelf in my quilt studio. Don't have a laundry room in this house to decorate—I just have a laundry closet, which holds the washer and dryer!
