A Christmas dollhouse secret...

Way back on this July post, I showed you this amazing dollhouse that I picked up for $10 from the Allegan Antique market.

It was love at first sight when I saw the tiny drilled holes in the window boxes which I quickly filled with vintage millinery flowers.

I've decided to start giving it a proper makeover
because...

...although my intention was to use it for additional storage in my craft room, I couldn't help but think that Josie really needs this for Christmas.

Target has a new line of miniatures (Li'l Woodzeez) and I think this raccoon family need a special dwelling.

I picked all sorts of doll house supplies from Hobby Lobby over the weekend and I can't wait to get started.

As you can imagine, I'll have to be sneaky when I work on this project (so as to keep it a secret) but I promise to do a big reveal before Christmas.

XOXO

Thank you for the sweet comment on my blog!! I am not brave at all. I am just tired of dealing with pain and I would love to get my life back and be able to enjoy things again and not have to depend on pain medication to be able to function on a very limited capacity!

I can't wait to see how the doll house comes out! I saw a picture on Elizabeths flickr page and it looks like she purchase a house like this but hers is red and white or maybe she has painted it to go in the Make Over Room!!
You have a great week!! Thank you again for your prayers!
    Hugs,

  13. Oh Kim! We have found nearly the identical doll house! I have just posted mine pre-makeover as well. Thank you so much for the Target information about the cute animals. I want mine to be one visiting children play with. I like the idea that animals would be liked by boys or girls.
I will be excitedly following your makeover - shh! The secret is safe here! E

  18. LOVE IT!!! Josie will love the little Raccoon Family and the sweet little house they live in! ESpecially after you get it all decorated! I can't wait to see how it turns out.
My own little dollhouse (that houses bears and mice, etc...) is a similar blue and probably needs an interior and exterior spruce up, but I am hesitant to make alterations to it. I want it to look the way it did when I was a kid.

  19. Oh she's going to LOVE it :) What's nice is, she/you will be ale to deck it out for each holiday to come too. I remember a line of little woodland creatures kinda like that when I was growing up. I loved those things.....badgers, and bears, and rabbits. *sigh*
