Cute Kittens!

It's Friday and so it's time for another Lil' Vintage Story Books Link Party.

Today's book is a counting book by Art Seiden copyright 1958. It was a childhood favorite.

My favorite page growing up was number 4 because of all the cute kittens.

Just look at those sweet faces.

While I'm showing off cute kittens, here are a few more favorites found in my craftroom.

A framed page from a storybook.

This ceramic kitten was in my grandparents kitchen growing up.

A picture record album.

Our "real-life" kitten is pretty darn cute too...

...even when she's exploring the dollhouse.

Don't forgot to stop by Corey Moortgat's blog for more great vintage books and illustrations.

Happy Friday!
Happy Playing!
Have a thrifty crafty weekend!
XOXO

  2. What a beautiful book and fun link party. My daughters really want a kitten (but my dog wouldn't do well). I will show this to Lily, we read a fifties kitten book this week too - "The kitten who thought he was a mouse" this week, Lily will love seeing your kitten in the doll house - absolutely adorable.

  3. The kitten illustrations are darling! I remember that book. And your real life kitty is so adorable, ESPECIALLY when she is exploring the doll house!! LOL. My kitties do that too (explore in the doll house) and usually knock several things over and end up racing away with one of the resident critters in their mouths... bless their wee little hearts! Of course I have to go save said critter from utter destruction ... teeth and claws and that muffled meow that say "look what I caught" don't usually bode well for vintage fabric mice and bears.

  5. Love it. I remember those great tall books. I found some amazing ones yesterday. They are in such bad shape but the graphics are amazing. I am going to have to get some book repair tape. Your Kitty stuff is beautiful. Our Reagan does this with our legos. We call him Catzilla...smiles..Renee

  6. I remember that book! Love your vignette-just adorable!
We went through another phase of 'do we want a dog?' But kitties are so much easier and I love them (sitting here with Bob sprawled on my lap!).
Do you have a snow day there?
Hope you have a great day!

  7. oh, LOVE that book! And love all your kitty decor! My sister got me 3 Ruth Newton book pages of kitty illustrations for Christmas. They are so, so cute- I plan to hang them in Avery's room at some point.

    (Your daughter is just gorgeous!)

  8. Your kitty in the dollhouse is adorable. There's probably a lot for a cat to play with in there. I don't know if I've ever seen one of the picture record albums before. Cute!
