Although they are lovely enough on their own, I really felt they could be even prettier with a tiny makeover. I started by carefully taking out the cardboard inserts.
I removed the butterfly and bunny cardstock images and replaced them with images that are available on ImagiMeri's blog. She has so many lovely spring/Easter vintage graphics just perfect for crafting. The images that you will see in this post came from this blog entry.
I added light green felt to the interior base of the egg (for grass) then added some tiny Easter eggs (currently available at Hobby Lobby), vintage millinery flowers, and mini toadstools. The final step was to brush the outer shell of the egg with white glue and generously sprinkle white glitter. I also added more vintage millinery flowers around the ribbon at the top of the egg.
If you didn't want to use vintage images, you could also use fuzzy Easter chicks.

Hey pretty lady, I do like your version waaaaaaaaay better! I'm so glad you found a use for the graphics. I'm doing a little crafting here and there, but until I do something significant to blog about, I'm just gonna'keep throwin' out graphics. I've got a whole bunch of goodies coming.
ReplyDeleteBig Hugs,
Meri
I think I like your version best, of course. Tuesday Morning was on my list this weekend, but I didn't make it there.
ReplyDeleteSorry things have been so chaotic and busy that I haven't had time to blog or to reply to yours. The last three weeks have been quite a blur. Tori has been sick with strep; I have a surgery scheduled for April; JJ is in full swing with middle school golf; and Chris is applying for the college presidency, thus away from home more. If he is appointed, that means that life will change dramatically in the Whaley household.
I can't wait to see more Easter makeovers! And I am glad that Chris and the girls had a great snow day!
Much love,
Cindy
These are so very cute! And, you know, Kim, how much I adore toadstools! Those mini ones are wonderful!
