Today's book (The Funny Bunny Factory) is one of my favorites because of its delightful illustrations.
Copyright 1950 by Grosset & Dunlap, written by Adam Green. Illustrated by Leonard Weisgard. In this colorful tale, hundreds of bunnies take up residence in an abandoned factory.
Inside the factory, they find sugar eggs,
penny candy
toys
and one little bunny finds carrots!
This week's collection features my vintage Easter baskets.
One of my favorite baskets includes reproduction German eggs.
Another holds honeycomb eggs and flocked chicks.
Another basket is filled with glass eggs
decorated with vintage millinery flowers
Another holds a plastic egg decorated
with sweet bunnies.

love your basket and egg collection. Did you know there was another felted egg in the bag with the bunny and chickie eggs? it was a little pink one with a pink flower on it. It may have blended in with the pink easter grass... if you didnt see it.. (uh oh!)

That book is adorable. How fun to be able to roam around a factory and find all the Easter treats. They probably like the carrots the best though.
ReplyDeleteOh My! I remembering owing that book when I was little. I loved the illustrations in that little book. Unfortunately I had a younger sister who thought books were for eating and most of mine were chewed up and thrown away. LOL! Your Easter baskets are sooo cute.

They just don't make Easter baskets like they used to! Your collection is very sweet, and I especially like those honeycomb eggs. One more thing that I need to add to my must-have list!

ReplyDeleteOH, those are the sweetest bunny illustrations! I adore children's book illustrations... maybe that is one reason why I still have a whole bookshelf of books for little people. Actually I'm keeping those so my children can read to the kids they will have some day. (not any time soon.)
