All of Josie's flamingos have officially flown away (minus those that are helping us with croquet). I've replaced Josie's tropical flamingo birthday tree with my patriotic decorations.
Those prize ribbons are a nice filler this year on the tree. I've also given the top of my china hutch a patriotic makeover too.
The red wooden dollhouse furniture were acquired while we were away on our 20th wedding anniversary. They will go in my craft room later this summer.
I filled this glass jar with strips of red, white and blue paper that I picked up at Dollar Tree. I also tucked in a few mini flags.
I can't open the lid of the Cracker Jack tin. I had hoped to use it as a base for my feather tree, but its sealed up tight. Don't you just love the little sailor?
The Yankee Doodle story record is another new acquisition. Isn't he sweet? I don't want to rush the month of June, but bring on the RED, WHITE and BLUE!
So cute!! Love that cracker jack tin! Yikes - the 4th will be here before we know it -- slow down summer! :)
ReplyDeleteOH dont you wish we could have a 4th of july picnic party together! just think of all the decorations and fun foods and chitter chatter! Love your tree!

ReplyDeleteYou have a gift for finding great treasures as well as displaying them! Love your tree, as I do each time you change it up.
ReplyDeleteI visited Wilson's East Antiques in TC yesterday but came away with only one tatted handkerchief-disappointed. Guess I have visited too many good antique and estate sales recently.
Hope you find ore treasures to share with us while on vacation!
KIM!!

ReplyDeleteAll the red, white, and blue looks so cute on the tree!
ReplyDeleteBellissimo albero e decorazioni stupende, adoro come voi americani festeggiate l'anniversario dell'Indipendenza.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love all your 4th of July prettiness! The Cracker Jack tin, and the bottle brush tree are so neat. I really need to get a tree to decorate, I just love it!! Happy Thursday sweet friend! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteVery festive! The 4th is only two weeks away from yesterday! xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteWow oh Wow oh Wow!!! I so love all of your decorations!! I love the paper in the jar ideal! May copy that one!! Your home is always so festive and welcoming!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend. WE are trying to stay cool in NC! It is sooo hot and the humidity is so high!! Can't have the furbabies outside for more than a few minutes till the sun goes down. If they are out longer than that, they are all panting like crazy and waiting at the front door to go in. It is too hot for them even to go lizard hunting around the porch and carport!!
Hugs,
Lynn
So much vintage inspiration here and of course, I just love your tree!

ReplyDeleteCRACKER JACK TIN! I bought a vintage glass jar at the thrift and couldn't get it open. My brilliant husband took it and held it under the stream of hot air coming from the corn popper. Show off! Metal expands when heated, it opened easily. Try it!
