Several years ago, when the Halloween party turned into a family-friendly party (complete with carnival games and a popcorn machine) we extended the party atmosphere into our garage. In case you'd like to make your own haunted/castle-looking walls, here's an easy way to create a spooky effect with black plastic sheeting, a $ store mop and left-over house paint.
Supplies: 3 bags of plastic sheeting @ 10 x 25, $1 store mop, left over paint, and paint tray.
1. Give yourself ALOT of space to work on this project. We opened up our plastic sheeting into the driveway.
2. Be sure to weigh down the corners so that your plastic doesn't blow away and smear your paint (speaking from experience).
Unfortunately it started sprinkling yesterday and some of our bricks are a bit drizzly looking. Oops.
Here is a shot of the plastic sheeting in our garage, waiting to be hung with care.
A few sneak peeks of the final result.

Believe it or not, we have lots more to unpack and set up around the house and garage.
The party countdown continues!
Looks like much fun will be happening in your garage!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy this gorgeous day!
I wanna' come play! How unfair that you live so far away.....pooh, pooh, pooh. Someday, when I grow up, I'm gonna' be independently wealthy and come play at your house.

I'd like to volunteer to help work at the party NEXT year! I hope you can keep your brick wall, that's super cool! Looks like the 'many hands make light (or more) work theory going on there with dad and girl!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are sooo crafty and creative at your house! That will be the perfect addition to your party. Could you recycle it for next year? Just curious!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see more!
Love, love, love your dancing party boots! So cute!
Wow, so neat Kim!! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteI want to come to your party! Looks like it will be so fun, and you're not even done decorating!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, you certainly put a lot of work into transforming your garage into THE most wonderful place to be on Halloween! By next year, Josie will be a pro at painting rock walls.
ReplyDeleteI cant even imagine how long it takes you guys to put all of this away each year..... It looks sooooooooo good though. Wish we lived closer to join in on the festivities :)
ReplyDeleteI'd say "drizzly" bricks would be good for a spooky atmosphere.:)

ReplyDeleteI LOVE your total commitment! You are just sooooo creative, so devious, and so artistic, taking simple splashes and conjuring up a mood! If you weren't so far away, Lady, it would be you, me, the girls and my van raiding the after-Halloween sales like mad women!
