Watching and waiting...

The ice is setting up nicely on our backyard rink. Chris has hopes to turn our firepit into a warming station.
While we're waiting for the water to finish freezing, we took the girls to buy used ice skates at our local hardware store.  Miss Josie will be wearing lots of protection..including her bike helmet.  She's already sporting the hockey tooth smile.

Emma has decided that she'd like to try hockey skates. Pink blade guards add that feminine touch.

At 20+ years old, Chris and my skates are looking rather worn.

In 2001, Chris's skates went to Russia and back.

I've made Chris promise to take loads of pictures and video on Friday while I'm at work.  Hopefully, I can get some ice time on Saturday!

  11. I am so jealous- Your ice is starting to look like a rink. We are going to have to flood ours with water from the bay because MyHero thinks it should take up half the backyard (about 1/2 acre). Ummm...really....I don't want to talk about it!;>) xo Diana
