A bit of Valentine decorating at the Plantation dollhouse

During the last month, my 1940s southern colonial-style plantation dollhouse had been on top of my china hutch decorated for Christmas.
I decided to swap out some of the Christmas decor for a few Valentine decorations.

Because it's still very snowy and cold in MI, the snow continues at the dollhouse too.

The ladies probably aren't dressed appropriately for winter weather, but they are very festive in their party clothes.
I hope you have some time this weekend for a bit of play.

We are under another winter storm warning. Stay cozy.

  7. Oh my goodness! That is just adorable. I wish I could teleport to your house just to see that in person. Hmm.. maybe my doll house needs a little "Valentining" up. (I amaze myself with my constant ability to make up new words!)

  8. I don't think party clothes have ever been very well-suited for winter weather.:) A lady must be appropriately dressed, however, and the dolls are perfect! Such suitable Valentine's Day decorations! Stay warm and safe! xo Nellie

  10. The plantation house looks wonderful! I love the little dolls in their special frocks too. The weather has been frigid here with little end in sight, except for the blowing snow warning. Stay safe, cozy, and crafting. I told the girls we would make chocolate dipped fortune cookies this weekend ala Kim K!

  11. Those little storybook dolls are made for Valentine's day, aren't they? I especially love the one on the left who's holding the vintage-looking valentine! One of my houses (one I haven't given a tour of yet) is occupied by three women- they must be lonely sisters or spinsters or something...! But your gals all look like they must have a sweetie somewhere giving them Valentines!

  21. Hi girlfriend! I know! Isnt this weather something else this year? I dont want to complain.. but OMG! really.. its cooooold outside! I'm supposed to see Les Mis today. But its about an hour's ride from here at Roberts college, and were supposed to get more snow this afternoon. The roads are already covered and of course salt doesnt work on the roads if its under 15 degrees, which it is way under. so even though Ive already paid the 20.oo for the ticket, I think Im going to skip the show, stay home, do some laundry and cook a roast. stay warm my friend!
