Patriotic decorations at the Plantation

It's been a wonderful birthday/Memorial weekend.
We couldn't ask for better weather.   Not too hot and loads of sun!
On my birthday, we traveled to South Haven to enjoy some time at one of my favorite antique malls (Murphy's Antique Mall).  We also spent some time on the beach soaking up the sun and enjoying the view of Lake Michigan.
Hard to believe this was the same beach back in February!!
In honor of Memorial weekend, the plantation ladies have been busy at work getting things ready for their own patriotic celebrations.  The little blondie with the patriotic hat was designed by Magpie Ethel.
A tiny red wagon has been decorated for a mini parade.
The table is set with pie and fresh berries.
After the baby goes down for a nap, a croquet match will be taking place on the front lawn.
A light-up star necklace has been added to the picket fence.
The bunting was made from folded crepe paper available at the Dollar tree.
Wishing you all a blessed Memorial Day...and most importantly, thanking all who have volunteered to give their ALL for our freedom.
 XOXO

  1. I always love seeing what you have done with the dollhouses. It sounds like you've had a really good birthday week-end. It would be nice if we could celebrate without adding that year to our age, wouldn't it?:-)

  12. Your dollhouse looks so darn patriotic and fun. I just want to pick up a mallet and start playing croquet with the girls!

Was there ice on the lake? I was watching the news tonight and they showed people on the beach at Lake Superior with ice chunks floating off in the distance, so didn't know if you had the same issue.

  13. Hi Kim,
How lucky for you to get to go to the beach! No beach any where close to me! Boo Hoo!
You are so cute with all your Plantation house decorating and the stories to go along with it. I recognize several of the mini's that Michael's carry. I thought they were just carrying them for the Summer but it seems like they may be a permanent fixture there. I hope so!
Have a great rest of your week,
    Gina

  21. You really do find the most perfect little accessories for each holiday- I'd have never thought of a croquet set, but how perfect! I didn't have much antiquing luck on my birthday, unfortunately, but I did get a few fun presents- I'll have to shoot some pics and post soon!
