Chris came home with another $15 enamel table from a recent estate sale.
As you can see, this one needed some tender loving care. Originally constructed in 1948, it has two sides that can be extended.
He spent the weekend sanding off the rust and repainting the enamel.
Don't you love the blue trim? He taped off the sides to retain its color while he was repainting the table top and collar.
He wanted to replace the wood on the drawer, but I loved its worn character.
$15 table. $3 can of white enamel paint. Hours of elbow grease.
New life for a very loved table.
I wonder what special meals, family secrets and games were shared at this table?
XOXO

ReplyDeleteQuite the team you are at finding treasures . . . and bringing them back to life. I can see the table as a great space to play a board game . . . or for a 1000 piece puzzle!
ReplyDeleteI love your enamel table! Great job restoring it.

ReplyDeleteI have never seen a table like this, love the way that it extends, how handy! What a great find...looks like new but still has a lot of charm, perfect with the table cloth.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to find a good item and then actually fix it up and use it and not let it sit in the pile in your garage. Looks great Chris!

Such a sweet table, and for a sweet price. Yay for hubby's elbow grease. Where will it go?
ReplyDeleteWow! I have a table very similar, but no drawer, and, it is rusty, too. I had no idea you could paint the top, too. What a guy!
ReplyDeleteLove it. We have an enamel table in the kitchen and use it every day. The leaf system is different, though.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful restoration!! I love bringing things that other people would throw in the trash and then giving them a lovely new life!!
