Happy Mail and a Kim K. Give-away!

Did you all have a good Thanksgiving?   It's been a wonderful week of respite and family time.  We spent several days at our A-frame cottage (more on that later this week) and when we came back home, a special box was waiting for me from Sandy (521 Lake Street).
We were partnered in Erica's (Golden Egg Vintage) Christmas in the Kitchen exchange.
I had so much fun putting together a box of treasures for Sandy.  These are a few of the things I sent her.
Sandy completely spoiled me with so many beautiful homemade treasures.
One of my favorite goodies is this teeny tiny snow globe made from a salt shaker.
Just look at all these amazing goodies!
Sandy, I'm completely smitten with everything.
Yummy treats and paper crafting supplies too! Thank you, so much!  I love kicking off Christmas with you!
And because I want to share my Christmas spirit with all of my friends, I'd like to share a Kim K. Christmas give-away!
With my love of miniatures, I've designed  a tiny Santa Christmas kitchen.  It's filled with lots of special details.  This is a give-away for the pure joy of giving back to my friends!
In order to be entered in the giveaway, just leave a comment on this blog post.  If you don't have an active blog, be sure your email address is included in your comment.  Entries close at 8:00pm EST Thursday, December 4. Merry Christmas!

A wild week!

What a wild week of weather. Lots of lake effect snow all week long and now its raining out.  This was a picture I took outside of my university office window mid-week.
I understand cold weather is returning and they are predicting we will have several inches of new snow again to give us a white Thanksgiving. It's certainly never dull in MI!  Chris will be spending his Sunday afternoon constructing the backyard ice rink in preparation for the return of cold weather.
I wrapped up the work week with a great estate sale on my lunch hour Friday.
I really wish I could have gotten there sooner.
They had advertised lots of vintage Christmas and the pictures looked amazing!
I did find enough to make me happy.
Speaking of things that make me happy, we did a quick overnight at our A-frame Friday night.
It's looks super cozy with all the snow.
As you can imagine, I'm having so much fun decorating the cottage for Christmas.
We will be heading back during Thanksgiving break to enjoy some extended time.

I see lots of board games, puzzles and sledding this coming week!
Hoping you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving with family or friends.  Safe travels (especially if you have snowy weather in your forecast).
After Thanksgiving I'll be revealing a Kim K.  Christmas give-away!  XOXO

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

The Great Lakes have been producing all kinds of lake effect snow for my area.
So much snow, that we all had a snow day yesterday...even my University closed!
Does make me wonder what we have in store for this winter?
 Stay cozy!  Happy Wednesday!

A full weekend...

How was your weekend?  We filled every minute.
We spent less than 24 hours at our A-frame cottage but it was enough to get it a bit more winterized and to bring a few more Christmas decorations.
I had made a new wreath and was eager to hang it on the front door.
We also added a few more touches to our Nordic themed Christmas tree and then we added greenery and lights to the girl's bedroom loft railing.
On the way home, we stopped off at a sale and grabbed these three elves for $12.
I need another blowmold like a hole in the head, but our Santa will be happy to be reunited with his elves (especially at $4 a piece).
When we got home Saturday, we spent the rest of the day getting our yard cleaned up and prepped for the approaching winter storm.

Sunday was busy, but we did get outside to enjoy the snow.
Our weather forecast includes more snow and unusually cold weather this week, so we've decided to turn on the backyard Christmas lights early.

Looks like we'll be putting in the ice rink before Thanksgiving this year.  Is it really only mid-November?  Have a great week and safe travels.

What month is it?

Can you believe it's only November 14th?
I think Mother Nature is a little mixed up.

In honor of our A-frame cottage, I made myself a little putz  style  A-frame house.
Have a lovely weekend.  Stay cozy!

Talking Turkey...Thanksgiving decorations around our house

The Halloween blowmolds have been officially relocated to the garage attic and my two pilgrim blowmolds are now stationed on the front porch.

With our cold and snowy weather, I've been tempted to start dragging out Christmas but it took me so long to pack up Halloween, that I'm kinda enjoying a cleaner minimal house right now.
I only have one bin of Thanksgiving and these goodies are primarily located in the living room.
As you can see from my blog header, my newest acquisition are the Indian Gurley candles.
I had loads of turkeys and Pilgrims but now I have a few Indians too.
When I was packing up my Halloween tree, I decided to keep up a few of my autumn garlands and it's now become my "Thanksgiving tree".
Yes.  I have officially decorated my sunroom  tree for every single holiday (including some made-up holidays).  I'm feeling blessed that my family tolerates my holiday goofiness.  Gobble Gobble!
