R stands for Rain, Raking and Reindeer

It has been an absolutely beautiful fall, but much cooler weather and SNOW is in our local forecast starting Saturday night.
We've been so busy over the last month that we haven't had a moment to get to the A-frame cottage and so we will be spending some much needed time (in between the rain and snow showers) getting all these beautiful leaves raked.   This picture was taken the first part of October.  Thanks to my the assistance of my brother in law, he and Chris were able to get the boat and docks out, but our yard is now full of leaves.

I see lots of cups of hot chocolate in our future on Saturday and Sunday.

PS.  Yes.  I've started collecting Christmas related things from my personal collection to bring to the A-frame.  Happy Weekend!

  1. Have fun at the A-frame. I am so glad you have this wonderful sweet getaway. We had a cottage all the time our kids were growing up and it was such a blessing for all of us. xo Diana

  3. I bet it will be a cozy little place to be when in the cooler months. Do they maintain the road through there in the winter? I know some cottages are difficult to get to on those cottage roads.
    Have a great weekend!

  9. Cannot wait to see how you decorate the A-frame for Christmas!! Vintage Christmas will fit in so naturally there- how fun! I'm envious of that decorating project!

  10. It's so much fun for me to keep up with your decorating and family fun! LOVE the plaid for Christmas. I have 3 thermoses now - they are so fun! Fall is here in the mountains just a wee bit - and not at all in the desert. It's paradise down there!

  12. The A-frame looks cozy. We just closed up our cottage a week ago. The weather has definitely taken a turn. I just love the vintage plaid. I recently started picking up vintage Christmas items for my Etsy shop but somehow they never made it there and have become part if my collection. Funny how that happens. :)
