Weekend highlights...

We started our weekend at Van Andel Arena watching Live Arts Grand Rapids where Emma's Grandville marching band participated Friday night.
Saturday was a day of prom preparations for Emma.
She looked gorgeous.
I still can't believe my baby is going to be 17 in a few weeks.
I ended the weekend with a trip on Sunday to the Allegan Antique market for their season opener with my mom and sister.

These miniature cabins came home and will join the rest of my tiny cabin collections at our lake house.  These last few days sure have been a whirlwind of activity.  Have a wonderful week ahead!

Busy, busy, busy!

Thank you for all your compliments on my "she shed".

Who knew that when my husband agreed to rescue 13 wooden doors and build me a garden shed beneath the girls treehouse, that I'd be in "vogue".

It's been an absolutely crazy week at work with winter semester ending and spring semester starting very quickly.  It doesn't help that our evenings are equally busy...especially for my eldest who is juggling her junior year Advanced Placement studies, band practice, prom duties and tennis practice.

Both girls are involved with outdoor sports and the weather has been downright miserable for practice and games this week.
Emma has prom Saturday evening and we are hoping Mother Nature will cooperate for a few outdoor pics.  She's having her hair professionally styled, but I wanted to share a sneak peek of her beautiful dress.
For my blogging friends who have warm temps and sunshine, please send some of that our way!
My mom, sister and I are headed to the first Allegan Antique Market  on Sunday and we'd like to stay dry!!  I hope you are having a good week, friends.

My "she shed"

The weather was absolutely fantastic on Saturday.

In between helping Chris with yard work, moving our trampoline and washing down our deck furniture,  I scrubbed out my garden shed.
Goodbye spiderwebs!  I washed walls and windows and hung new lights.
Even the chenille bedspread and pillows got laundered.  It's all set for backyard guests.
Apparently the new term (according to Country Living) is "she shed".
Whatever it's called, I love my little space beneath the girls treehouse.

Have a wonderful week!
XOXO

Recent finds and FREE antique furniture!

While we were at the lake last week, Chris and I did manage to hit one estate sale.  We were in and out in just a few minutes but I did happen to find a few holiday items, as well as another wool plaid blanket and handmade afghan.
I also made a quick trip with my mom and sister to the local antique mall and scored this amazing tin Easter basket for $3!  Aren't the graphics darling?
These squirrel salt & pepper shakers are now living at our A-frame too.  With all our oak and pine trees, I believe they have become our  lake house mascots.  On the way back home from our week at the lake, Chris found a picker's sale (the house is so bad, it's actually being demolished) but he dug through some boxes and came home with Santa and Satan.
Last but not least (and certainly most exciting) my husband's former principal generously gave us this beautiful pie safe....for FREE!
Isn't it gorgeous?

My mother has a pie safe and I've always wanted one of my very own. As you can imagine, I've already had fun filling it with linens, my grandmother's dishes and other special treasures.
I still can't believe this beautiful piece of furniture is now mine!  I'm feeling very spoiled and very blessed (thank you Linda).

Spring break at the lake...

It wasn't the warmest spring break, but we had fun.
When it wasn't raining, we bundled up and had many outdoor adventures.
Of course the sun and warm temperatures decided to make a grand appearance on the day we headed back home.
Back to work.  Back to reality.  I'll be back to checking out my blogging friends too.

A little R & R...

I hope you had a wonderful Easter.
We enjoyed our annual Easter breakfast at home before making the mad dash to church.
After mass, we then headed to my parent's and took a slight detour.
This 50's diner is no longer in business, but it made for an interesting photo backdrop.
We are officially on spring break and we're all looking forward to going back and forth between the A-frame and home.

With only a 40 minute commute to the lake, we've already had a quick overnight last Friday.
The ice is off the lake and the full moon over the water was gorgeous.
We will be heading back shortly to install new bunk beds for future guests.
I might be a bit quiet this week in blogland.  Don't have too much fun without me!

A few new family members!

Yesterday, a fellow blowmold friend, shared on IG that the store "at home" had Easter 50% off.
I had been there a few weeks ago admiring their blowmold Easter bunnies but didn't want to pay full price.

I'm not exactly sure where we are going to store this new bunny family, but I'm glad they hopped over to my house!  Happy April 1st!  Easter blessings!
