I'm not ready to pull out the Christmas bins yet (Halloween wears me out) but in case you happen to be interested in future Christmas crafting projects, Target is selling these reproduction putz houses for $3.
The colors are a bit "bright" so I decided to tone it down. I removed the pipe cleaners and replaced them with my own. I also brushed the entire house with white glue and dusted it with fine glitter. The decorating options are endless and this could even be a project that you do with your kiddos (minus the glue gun part).
I haven't had time in weeks to do any crafting, so this gave me a much needed fix. Happy Christmas crafting!
What a super job you did toning down the brightness! This is really the time to begin those Christmas crafts. Probably a little past time.:-) xo Nellie
ReplyDelete100% better! Love what you did and they would be fun to redo with kidos or friends!
ReplyDeletewarmly,
deb
It turned out great! Target is on my list for tomorrow:@)
ReplyDeleteThat looks great, Kim! I'd never guess that it wasn't vintage! I'm having a hard time not being tempted by all the cute Christmas that I'm already seeing out there. Since we will be moving right around Christmas, I have to skip decorating this year. We'll see how strong my will power is throughout the season!!
ReplyDeleteI saw these the other day at Target and thought they were so cute! I"ll have to pick up a couple for Maddie to flip.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, Kim!

So cute -- love this! Target is a treasure trove (sometimes) in the $1 and $3 section. Have a fun weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing difference...it hard to even see the original house. What you have done makes it so much cuter.
ReplyDeleteI love them! So adorable! I just did a bunch of Christmas crafting for that craft fair..I will take photos tomorrow of my table! Maggie
ReplyDeleteLove your reno! Great fix to make them look older! Architect is putting up Dept 56 Village at our house.
ReplyDeleteok... going to target...
ReplyDeletexoxo happy weekend!
I saw those at Target and thought the same thing-a little too bright. Now I wish I had gotten a few. Such a great transformation, Kim. Back to Target!
ReplyDeleteFabulous idea! But either you drove down here to Columbus and cleared all the Targets out of their little houses or my Target isn't as cool as yours! I haven't found a single house down here yet :( Still on the lookout though so I can copy your project.
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteI am heading to Target in the morning!! Love these and I love how you transformed them!! Thanks for visiting!!
Hugs,
Deb
