Chopstick Frame – CNY craft
Oriental Trading Company has a chopstick frame kit that you can order, but most of the supplies can be found easily at home.
Supplies needed for this project include:
• Wooden chopsticks
• Ribbon
• Chinese letter patterns or other printable patterns (see link for great CNY prints)
• Paper for printing
• Computer printer
• Glue
• Markers, crayons or colored pencils
• Scissors
I saved our unused chopsticks that came with a recent order of take-out food, but I also found that Party City also had a whole package of decorative chopsticks with their CNY decorations.
Step 1. Go to the following website:
Select one of the printables (you can even select whether you want it to print in color or in black and white).
Step 2. Print off your printable and trim the edges with scissors.
Step 3. Color your printable with markers, crayons or colored pencils, if you selected black and white printing. I always print in black and white because I enjoy seeing how Emma chooses to color her drawings. But for a faster craft, you could select the color option.
Step 4. Glue your chopsticks to the edge of your printable to form a frame.
Step 5. Allow to dry and then take your ribbon and fold over to make a loop and glue to the back of the frame.
Happy crafting! Let me know if you are doing any of these CNY crafts. I'd love to link back to your blog to show off your creations.
You are so crafty! And looks like your kids are, too. I love checking in on you to see what you create.
