Over the weekend, when I wasn't digging out from drywall dust and catching up on laundry, the girls and I were crafting and baking. I just love easy, quick and cheap projects. These heart-shaped boxes of chocolate were .99 cents at my local grocery store.
As much as I love chocolate, it was the heart-shaped box that I was interested in. With decorative paper, a little crepe paper, some embellishments and a bit of glue, look what you can do with your boxes!!
Who wouldn't love their chocolates dressed up in these pretty boxes?
Step 1. Separate the lid from the box of chocolate. Turn the lid over and trace the lid onto scrapbooking paper or wrapping paper with a pen.
I used origami paper that I had left over from a previous craft project (it only seemed fitting with Chinese New Year on Sunday). Cut out the heart shape and set aside.
Step 2. Cut some crepe paper and draw a line of glue around the edge of the chocolate lid. Fold the crepe paper back and forth over the glue to form ruffles. Cover the entire lid with crepe paper ruffles.
Step 3. Cover the heart shape with glue and lay on top of the lid to cover the seam of the crepe paper ruffle.
Step 4. Use sequins, ribbons, stickers to further embellish your chocolate box.
Step 5. Cover up your chocolate box with your new pretty decorative lid and enjoy!
Aren't my little pastry chefs cute? I just love their matching hats and aprons. I know someday Emma won't entertain me with matching clothes, but I'm soaking it all in while I can.
Those hearts turned out soooo cute! I wish I had your creative bone!
ReplyDeleteAdorable pictures of your little chefs. Where did you find the aprons and hats?! I love them!
Hope you have a great week!
I love the heart boxes. You have the cutest little pastry chefs. Happy Monday!
ReplyDeletePS. The aprons/hats were purchased at Target a few years ago (pre-Josie). I just embellished them with flower pins on their hats.
