Dance competition and personalized gift tags...

Before I show you my super easy craft, I have to give a shout-out to Emma's dance team which took first place in their category at the dance competition on Saturday. Woo hoo!

I don't have great action shots of their performance (and a certain twelve year old doesn't want me to post the video...which is fabulous) but either way, Congratulations,Emma!

PS. This was how Josie entertained herself when Emma wasn't dancing.

...a popcorn/crafting station.

Now, onto the craft. December keeps marching on and it's time to start wrapping gifts. Here's a fun way to create special gift tags by personalizing them with cupcake and candy paper liners. They remind me of award ribbons.

Supplies:

Candy paper liners (I used a gold foil paper liner, but any kind would work, they just need to be smaller than a cupcake paper liner)
Cupcake paper liners
Clip art or white computer paper
Ribbon
Glue
Tape
Scissors

1. Press a cupcake liner flat so that it forms a circle.
2. Press a candy paper liner flat so that it forms a circle.
3. Glue the candy paper liner in the center of the cupcake paper liner.
4. Cut two pieces of ribbon and attach with tape to the back of the cupcake paper liner.
5. Trace a circle (a shot glass works well) onto your white paper. Or, use the circle shape found in your word processor. You can then insert a text box inside the circle for your recipients name. If you use a shot glass, you'll then use a pen to address your recipients name.
6. Cut out the circle and glue to the center of the candy paper liner. Clip art can also be used as a center embellishment. I also started doubling the cupcake liners and fringing the inside liner to give it a bit of dimension.

Pretty easy! Pinky swear!
Have a fabulous week ahead!
