Treehouse paint ~ ~ REVEAL!!!

We crammed sooooo much into the long Memorial weekend, that I wasn't sure which project to blog about first. To be fair to Chris and all his late nights spent with a paintbrush and power sprayer, I decided it was only fair to show off the interior paint in the treehouse.

Don't worry, he did start wearing a breathing mask soon after I shot this picture.

These next shots were taken after 11pm at night

These shots were taken at 7:30am with the morning light streaming though the windows

The toe and door molding isn't up yet, but we're "almost" ready to start moving in furniture and accessories.

The floor paint turned out far better than I expected. It's gorgeous. The pale blue turquoise/aqua is a stunning contrast to the white walls.

I wasn't sure how it was going to come together and it has exceeded my expectations in every way.

Thank you, Chris!!

I know you're growing tired of this project and all your new plants/landscaping projects are calling out to you.

We're almost to the finish line.
XOXO

A Winner & Weekend Highlights...

Congratulations to Lee from Small Enchantments for winning my birthday give-away!

When it's convenient, send me an email with your postal address so that I can get your goodies to you.

It was a productive & busy weekend around our house...especially for Mr. Chris. Let's just say I have a TON Of blogging material for the rest of this week. Here are a few sneak peeks.

Antiquing with my mom & sis. No, the moose didn't come home, but lots of other things did!!

Celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary with a little champagne & cheesecake.

Finally, having the temps warm up and the sun come out. It was especially fun watching the girls trying to outrun the giant mosquitoes in our back yard.

But most importantly, just look at that beautiful paint job inside the treehouse!!! The big reveal is coming soon. I promise.

Did YOU have a good weekend?

XOXO

Honoring my father on Memorial Day...

Have a wonderful Memorial Day enjoying the freedom so many have died to give us!

Thank you for serving, Dad.

And you thought I was kidding...

I was serious when I said that Chris lives for the annual Memorial weekend West Olive nursery sale.

I don't think he could have squeezed in one more plant into the van if he wanted too.

Waking up the yard...

I haven't played a huge role in our yard's landscaping since we moved to this house.

I'm the official lawn mower, but beyond pushing the mower and dragging a garden hose around the yard, I've been fairly hands-off. My husband (the former Frank's Nursery & Crafts employee) is too talented to let me ruin his creations, but I know he'd like it if I spent more time beside him in the dirt.

With all his efforts focused on the treehouse lately, I offered to weed the beds this past weekend. Let's just say, I have a whole new appreciation for his plant selections and the work that goes into making our yard so beautiful.

Aren't these baby cardinals so sweet?
They are living right outside our sunroom deck.

This weekend is a huge nursery sale in West Olive. My HUSBAND lives for this weekend. It's kinda like my once-a-month summer Allegan antique market fix. He's got a whole new area around the treehouse to landscape and he's hoping to start creating some new walking paths in the woods. The van is going to be packed with plants and trees. Just you wait!!

If you haven't already entered my birthday giveaway, please be sure to do so here. I'll be drawing a name on 5/30 at 7pm (EST).

Have a splendid Memorial weekend!
It's our 19th wedding anniversary on Sunday.
I'll be antiquing in Allegan.
Chris will be hopefully painting a treehouse.

Get ready Mom and Dad.
Next year...the big 20th anniversary... Chris and I want an overnight without the girls! I think they would love an overnight at your house...hee hee.

XOXO
