How it all began...

Last July, Chris started tossing around the idea of a treehouse for the girls.

As soon as we came back from a out-of-state vacation, the construction began in our garage.

The posts and twelve-by-twelve deck/base came first. It required a tree removal, chain saws and a lot of help from our engineering neighbor.

Then the walls were constructed in our garage and transported to the backyard.

Then came the rafters, then the plywood sheeting, the tin roof, followed by windows.

The front deck railing and vinyl/cedar shake siding were then added.

Then, winter came.

When the weather broke, electricity was added, the insulation was blown in and the loft was constructed.

The rear stairs and beadboard walls were next.

Then, came lots and lots of painting.

Which brings us to the BIG reveal.

Be sure to check back on Monday.

The girls have officially moved in.
XOXO

  2. Your children are so blessed to have such a wonderful play house, and such a wonderful Daddy to build it! I can't wait to see the rest of the inside. It's probably prettier inside your play house than in my house!

Okay, so how long has Josie said her tree should stay up...I have a feeling that it will be a summer decor addition for awhile.

Love the finds at the market. Boy do I wish we had one here. Although right now I don't think I could stand the heat!

Glad the lunch box, early bus, and math days are almost over!!!!
