The treehouse deck includes a couple of chairs and a special watermelon table made by mother nearly 18 years ago.
Once inside you might want to join us in a glass of lemonade or munch on a chocolate chip cookie.
Yes. That is the $12 table I featured on this post. You might even recognize that special lamp from this post. The hutch featured here is now filled with all kinds of special items arranged by Emma.
Next to the hutch is a small table that belonged to my grandmother. It got a facelift with a new coat of paint. I picked up the clock last weekend and you may recognize the tea party items featured on this post, as well as a hatbox filled with Emma's art supplies featured on this post.
Next to the table is a blue shelf filled with Josie's baby shoes, my button bouquet, a framed children's illustration and crocheted pot-holder dress given to me by my Aunt Marion.
Next to the shelf is a picture bulletin board filled with favorite pictures.
You might recognize the pink umbrella that was in my craft room from this post. It's now gracing the ceiling of the treehouse along with the Emma's pink beaded light and a shelf full of vintage goodies.
I found these teacup pictures in the $1 bin at Michael's. The blue/pink colors coordinate with our pink and aqua color palette.
We're using pink suede containers for chairs at their special table. They are also good for storage.
I picked up this pillow at my favorite antique/thrift store last weekend at 50% off. It's made from a chenille bedspread.
All the windows feature a cherry print curtain that I picked up from our local grocery chain on clearance. The fabric bunting was purchased from TParty Antiques on Etsy.
A few other items, include this silk butterfly, an outfit from China and this vintage print from my favorite antique/thrift store.
Like all new construction, we have a few projects that aren't quite finished. The loft needs a railing and ladder.
We also have a screen door that needs to be painted and installed. I've promised Chris I would help him paint the screen door to match the lovely aqua floor. You have to admit this treehouse is pretty amazing. The girls spent all weekend outside and I can't wait to see what memories will be made this summer in their special dwelling.

What a great space! I love the mix of all of the details. That watermelon table is so sweet and fits perfectly. The curtains you picked up were a great buy as well (I love fruit on curtains). What a perfect start to the girls' summer!
ReplyDeleteIt turned out amazing. Your daughters will be telling stories about the treehouse for years to come. I think it needs its own scrapbook.
ReplyDeleteIt is exactly what sweet memories are made of! Its like a little fairy tale dwelling! Im sure the girls are feeling like little princesses! YOu just need the seven dwarfs! Everything is adorable! So.. now that that big project is completed, what will you tackle next? lol! Actually i think your hubby deserves a vacation! maybe a trip to the ocean! Your post brought tears to my eyes, just seeing the joy and thinking of all the wonderful hours of childhood this adventure has and will provide. Beautiful job decorating. My daddy built me a playhouse when I was five and now 40+ years later I can still smell the freshly sawed wood in my mind and remember him having to scrunch up to come inside to have tea. You've given them a demonstration of your love that they will always carry with them.
ReplyDeleteWow! That is amazing. I love how you and the girls decorated it. And I didn't realize it had a loft. That is going to be so fun for the girls (and you).
ReplyDeleteWow!! Those are two blessed girls to have such an amazing space...and such sweet parents to build it and put it all together. I hope you ALL have a wonderful summer!
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is WONDERFUL!
ReplyDeleteWorth the wait! I knew it was going to be beautiful, but this is just amazing!
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely amazingly beautiful. What lucky girls you have and what a wonderful husband to put so much work into this special place just for them. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWOW WOW WOW!!! Every last detail is absolute PERFECTION! The memories that the girls will build in their luxury treehouse will such a priceless treasure. I didn't know there was a loft! We couldn't quite figure out how to make a ladder and railings work, so we didn't finish it. I'm sure Chris has a genius plan in the works....perhaps I can steal it!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous work, Kenwards!! May your summer be full of joy and many dreamy hours playing in the new treehouse!!
hugs!!
It is amazing! Your girls must feel so special. You've done such a beautiful job! I want one of my own! :)

A watermelon table--what fun!
ReplyDeleteCOLOR DILEMMA
Yellow or red—which shall it be?
Red for you and yellow for me?
Perhaps you’d rather have yellow instead—
Which leaves me, of course, with handfuls of red!
Whichever hue you decide to choose,
I’ll take the other—no one will lose!
