Spells & Potions

A few years ago I purchased this black scrapbook for $2. I loved the aged yellow pages and black cord.

I took the pages out of the scrapbook and ran them through my printer to create a spells & potions book. Microsoft Word has a chiller font which adds a lovely creepy effect.

You can find Harry Potter Spells and Potions here and here and here. Your spell & potions aren't complete without a few props. I picked up my bottles at my favorite antique mall, but you can even find some unusual ones at thrift stores too.

Potion labels are all over the web right now. My favorite ones can be found here. I printed the labels, dusted them with fine glitter or red glitter and glued them onto varying bottles.

This year they are clustered on a silver tray with miniature skulls and battery operated candles.

Other Halloween goodies found near my spells & potions include...

Wire framed glasses, an oil lamp and a lovely antique lady picture.

I've also tucked in some curly decorative branches into a black vase, along with newspaper strips, moss, miniature skulls, and a bingo witch card.

Vintage black & white photos hang from the branches.

The wire basket nearby is filled with test tubes.

Last year, I purchased this Halloween game book.
It's still one of my favorite vintage finds.

Another favorite is this Halloween party hat that I created using a Dollar Store party hat as a template.

I'll be sharing a tutorial on how you can create something similar on an upcoming post.
