Hot Cross Buns, Carrot Napkins and Chocolate Peeps

"Let's go fly a kite" sent us a special package this week. She and I have a special relationship with creating pretend felt food. When she posted these Hot Cross Buns on her blog recently, I was completely smitten.

Josie has been enjoying serving me tea and buns.

As you can imagine, I've had a lot of time to surf a few of my favorite sites for Easter ideas this week.

Carrot napkins are quite popular this Easter.

This one found at Busy Bees Kids crafts uses orange construction paper with a green napkin tucked inside as the stem.

Family Fun has a different variation that uses orange tissue paper, green stemware and green pipe cleaners. My simple Josie-friendly variation uses two different types of napkins with a bit of scotch tape to keep the orange napkins in a cone/carrot shape. By the way, don't you love the Easter table cloth? I've had it since we were first married nearly 20 years ago.

Chocolate dipped marshmallow peeps were a favorite Easter treat last year and we made them again this week. They are super easy and totally kid-friendly.

Melt chocolate, dip the peeps bottom side down into chocolate, press the chocolate side into cookie sprinkles and set on parchment paper to dry.

YUMMY!

My knee scooter has made me a very happy and productive momma. By the way, Josie's other loose tooth came out with alittle help from the big sister. The tooth fairy has been extra busy this week.

Thanks for hopping in.
Have yourself a happy Thursday!

  16. Kim,
    Everything looks so yummy!
Glad to see and hear that you are getting around!! How the pain gets better for you soon!
Joe had his appt. with the Foot Dr. for removal of his plantar warts.
He will be off 6-8 weeks rather then 203 as originally expected. He has to have both feet done at once and will need to use a walker. I am going to have to keep him busy big time or he will be driving me up a tree! LOL!!

Wishing you and yours a very Happy Easter!!

    Hugs,
    Deb
