Something sweet...

I made a strawberry/apple pie this week.
Picture your regular apple pie recipe.
And add strawberries on top.

It was a fantastic combination flavors.

For a "little extra" sweetness,
I sprinkled cinnamon sugar
on the pie crust before baking.


My mother and grandmother used to bake the extra pie crust strips and dust them with cinnamon sugar. It was a special treat.

    Looks absolutely delicious, I haven't had a homebaked pie in ages. Cinnamon sugar dusted pie crust strips sound wonderful too. Have a happy weekend!

    That looks delicious :) My mouth is actually watering for a slice as I type. I've never been a huge fan of apple pie, but the strawberries sound like a killer addition. Hope you have a wonderful weekend, and are still on the happy road to recovery!

    The pie crust cookies were always a favorite heavily sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. I would never think to add strawberries to apples but it looks lovely. You can't sit still can you? It sounds very familiar...smiles...Renee

    Wow that looks good. I think I will have to try this soon. Never thought to make some extra sugar coated pie crust strips for the kids. Great idea.

    A strawberry and apple pie sounds delicious! My mom and grandma used to make those strips from extra pie crust and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, too!

    It's strawberry season now, and I am enjoying every minute of it! They are my favorite fruit! Have you tried sliced strawberries on a green salad with balsamic dressing? Delicious!
