Let there be LIGHT and horsing around...

I had hinted yesterday that Chris did some shopping with the girls at my favorite "local" antique store without me.  When I came home from work on Wednesday, Chris was busy in my craft room installing a new light. It's not just any light. It's a light made from blue canning jars!

I've never had good light in my craft room and this certainly directs the light down towards my counter, instead up towards the ceiling.  What a nice surprise!  I can't wait to start crafting again with better light!  While they were at the antique store they also spotted this vinyl toy barn.

I had wanted to find a barn for Josie's birthday horse collection.

It's absolutely adorable.  I especially love the graphics.

The barn even comes with all kinds of its original accessories.

The best part.  The barn was only $4.99 and it closes up for easy storage.

Well done, Chris.  I really love my new/old lights and Josie adores her new/old barn. Happy Father's Day, sweetie!

Have a thrifty/crafty weekend, friends.

  2. I love that little barn and how special that hubby just went ahead and put the light up for you. I have blinds that have been sitting in the garage for 3 years waiting to be installed. I could do it myself but it is a matter of principle now!!!! xo Diana

  6. Those are beautiful. You harness his energy very well. Mine spend his energy at various meetings and then tires too quickly at home? I have horrible lighting in my craft room too. Josie your barn is fantastic! Enjoy your Father's Day weekend....smiles...Renee

  28. Holy cow---- was hunting for a visual of the old vinyl barn/farm set my sister and I had when we were little, and I found it on your blog! :) I am 43 and remember playing for long, happy hours with that set, until it fell apart. haha Is there a name/brand anywhere on your little girl's to tell me where it's from? Thank you, and it was great seeing a piece of my childhood again!
