Snow globes are a popular Christmas craft and pinterest is just full of all sorts of wonderful variations right now. This version (which uses plastic wine glasses) has been recently been featured on My So Called Crafty Life and Little Pink Studio.
Plastic wine glasses
Card stock (I used paper coasters and pinking shears to cut to size)
Miniature plastic figurines
Chunky white glitter
Mod Podge
Hot glue
Pipe cleaners and miniature ornaments
I purchased my plastic wine glasses from the Dollar Tree. Their wine glass bases allow you to easily detach them from the stem of the glass.
Thank you for all the Christmas figurines, Aunt Marion. I knew they'd come in handy!
I started by hot gluing my plastic figurines onto the cardstock and then brushed mod podge around the figurines.
I then generously sprinkled chunky white glitter on top of the glue.
The rim of the plastic wine glass got a coating of hot glue and then it was secured on top of the card stock.
Pinking shears added a decorative edge. A Sparkly pipe cleaner and a single vintage miniature ornament was hot glued on top of the glass to finish the cloche.
Super easy. Super addictive.

I love this sweet idea. I actually found a little dome yesterday at the thrift store that is close to the size of a wine glass. I was playing around with some small things to put under it. I like the white cardboard on the bottom to hold everything! Holidays hugs!
