Chris surprised me after work with this box of putz houses. He had visited an estate sale on his way home. Yes. I realize I'm very spoiled.
This is a picture of my putz village from last Christmas.Friday night, I had gone to bed before Chris and was nearly asleep when he came in the room and said that estatesales.net was advertising a sale 50% off on Saturday. The pictures online showed that the house had a vintage Christmas room.
Do you think I slept much that night? I had vintage Christmas swirling around in my brain!!!
As soon as Emma was dropped off at the high school bright and early Saturday morning for Varsity Marching Band practice, we drove across town and ran to the basement of the estate sale (with Josie in tow). Pretty much everything was still there. However, the lines were so crazy to check out, that Chris and I never even saw what was in the rest of the house. You ready for lots of pics? This was an estate sale that will go down in my records books as one of the best sales EVER!
I've been wanting a wooden Christmas tree putz village folding fence for years but they've never been in my price range. Yippee for me!
I was so excited about this reindeer/sleigh display, that I took a picture of it with my cell phone to send to my Mom and sister while Chris was driving us back home.
I grabbed literally every Santa plastic candy container that was left on the table.
One can never have too many bells! I've not seen these plastic style red/green bell ornaments before.
Plastic snowflakes...they couldn't be left behind either!
A church/choir boy Gurley candle to add to my candle collection.
Angels ornaments with sweet sleepy faces.
A plastic star tree topper.
A spun-head angel and tiny yarn Santa.
Mercury corsage
Foil ornaments
Red honeycomb bells
A few other things that happened to be near the Christmas room included an Easter chick cardboard cutout and this cloth doll.
I also picked up this button pictures art kit. The graphics are so sweet.
I've already promised my sister and Mom that I would share my stash with them.
This was an estate sale worthy of Magpie Ethel. Merry Christmas to me!
Wow! That was a jack pot sale! Methinks I need to move to your side of the state! I never find treasures such as those over here! At least I can enjoy your pretties vicariously! LOL
ReplyDeleteGood Lord, woman, what a haul!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my! BONANZA! I love that sweet little cloth doll, too. Did you find any pixies? (knee huggers) They are getting harder and harder to find! What a sweet hubby...give him an extra hug!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Ha-ha!

ReplyDeleteMan, oh man I would have been in heaven with this one! I always grab those plastic snowflakes...great for crafting! Wish you would have grabbed the orange and black figures (they look like Rosen) in the third photo (was that the estate sale company photo?) Those halloween style plastic figures bring a good price and are super hard to find. Great job Chris for alerting you!
ReplyDeleteWow! You are a lucky duck! :) I see lots of crafting fun!
ReplyDeleteWell ho, ho, ho...you really scored at that fun sale!
ReplyDeleteScore.....wow.....what a boat load of goodies.
ReplyDeleteThat is the estate sale of my dreams! All great stuff!I'm excited to see what you will do with all your treasures! I love the sleepy angels! Glad you are having a great weekend! And I kind of like rainy/sweater weather too!
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe all that stuff was still there. I would have figured it'd be the first to go! Then again, I once got a bag full of vintage Christmas stuff at a retirement community sale, the old woman in charge gave me the dirtiest look, said, "This is all junk!" and charged me like 50 cents! It was filled with knee huggers, celluloid reindeer, etc. So, one woman's junk is another woman's scrumptiousness!
ReplyDeleteWow, you really scored this time, Kim! How sweet of Chris to surprise you with the Putz houses. I really think you need your own show on HGTV, you have such great luck at those esate sales!
ReplyDeleteYay For You!!!! What a haul! Are you still walking on cloud nine?

ReplyDeleteOh Kim! How wonderful! I love the putz houses and the marvelous little fence. And the spun head angel. And especially the Gurley choir boy! I'm sure the previous owner is so glad to have her collection go to a new home, where they will be appreciated and displayed.
