As if we don't have enough snow at our house, we took the girls up north a few hours away, where they have even MORE snow.
We stayed several days with our best friends who have a vacation home in the Traverse City area.
We had lots of snowy adventures on the sledding hills.
The girls even got to experience ice skating on a lake.
We took lots of long walks in the woods.
And drank lots of hot chocolate.
I even found my future cabin (just kidding) but isn't it quaint?
It was a lovely bit of respite and a wonderful way to kick-off 2014.
I'm back to work tomorrow (Friday).
I could use another week at home to get caught up from all our holiday celebrations!
Oh, yes! I feel like the time has flown by, and I'm not even returning to work anywhere!
ReplyDeleteWelcome home, Kim! It looks like an amazing time!
Stay warm!

What a wonderful getaway, Kim. I am so glad you had a wonderful holiday season with your family. I think we are going to head up to Munising, MI this weekend- why have just 3 feet of snow here when we can have 6 feet there? lol

Happy 2014, Kim! That cabin is the best! I have to say - I am a big fan of Christmas falling on Wednesday. These last two weeks have flown by - but it feels like we got a much longer holiday season than usual! I'm a little sad to see it go, but I really enjoy those winter months when every project seems do-able. Wishing you and your wonderful family the best of new years.

ReplyDeleteWhat, you don't have enough snow?! Sounds like you had a great time in TC, I really love that area. More snow headed our way, 8-10 inches, yikes!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun get away. My aunt and uncle went to TC this summer for the cherry festival and they said it was such a beautiful area. I agree, I could use another week of break.
