More new old treasures for the cottage!

I had hinted on Friday's post, that Chris and I have been hitting up estate sales here and there in search of things for our cottage and have come across lots of great kitschy campy stuff.
We’re going with a woodsy knotty pine theme, rather than a typical water theme, due to the interior design of the a-frame.
After a very quiet estate sale winter, it’s been a welcome change to have so many estate sales to pick from.
I’m really picky when it comes to estate sales.
It’s got to be old stuff.
And it’s got to be priced well.  Cheap.
My favorite ones are held at houses that are literally stuck in time…preferably the 1950s.
I hope you found some treasures of your own this weekend.
I'm on vacation this week from work (yippee)!

We hope to spend all our time cleaning and making trips back and forth moving into our cottage
Chris and Josie tested out the fishing and the water on Friday when they were there with the electrician.

 Josie approves.
Happy "almost" July!

XOXO

  2. I love the Smokey the Bear whatever they are. When I was about 10 I had a Smokey The Bear Forest Ranger Club......in Ohio, hah. They send me all kinds of things. I never see any memorabilia like this.
Love the cottage. Cute picture of Josie. You are going to love it. It's a summer home right. I didn't think you were moving there full time.

  8. Hi Kim!
I LOVE the vintage canister set you found! Your little cottage is going to be filled with AWESOME treasures. This is your lake home, right? Or is it your new permanent?

  9. Love your treasures! The new lake cabin is so cute. I am sure that between Chris and yourself, that cabin will be the cutest one on your side of the lake. Enjoy your week! I can't believe it is almost July. I saw a commercial on the Hallmark channel for Christmas in July starting Friday at 2pm! Then they are having the Hallmark ornament preview for 2014!
Have fun this week and can't wait to see the pictures!
    Hugs,
    Lynn

  11. Cute stuff. Love the paint by numbers and the old deer print in that fabulous frame. I actually pick estate sales by the neighborhood. There are some older neighborhoods around here and you'd swear you were stepping back into the 50's or 60's when you go through these houses. Those people are just the right age (if they are still with us) to have the good stuff. Have fun on your vacation!

  14. Oh my, you are finding the best things for your new little cottage! I love the woodsy theme you're going to go with. And the game boards. Oh, you guys are going to make such wonderful memories there. I'll keep my eye out for neat vintage woodsy stuff, although I'm finding absolutely nothing good thrifting or at estate sales lately. Florida has hit a dry season, not that it was ever that great to begin with! I just can't wait to see how it all comes together for you!
