Christmas in July! Estate sale finds!

Most of our estate sale adventures these last few weeks have focused on finding things for our a-frame cottage.   We've been determined to stick to a budget and recycle as much of our own furniture and estate sale finds as possible knowing that things like necessary electrical upgrades, a new water heater, refinishing floors...etc would be eating away at our budget.
BUT f the price is right, a little bit of vintage Christmas is always a welcome acquisition!
At a recent estate sale, I spotted a dusty box of Christmas garland on the floor in the basement.  I had shared a sneak peek of this amazing find on this post. Although I loved the pink garland, it didn't look like much UNTIL...
I removed the garland and discovered strands of mercury beads individually wrapped in tissue!!
I might have danced a jig in the middle of the basement.
I also spotted this box filled with bits of Christmas and a single Thanksgiving turkey.
I'm honestly surprised that all the pieces and the original box were still available for this tree.
Imagine all the possibilities for decorating this fun little piece of plastic!
I really don't need any more vintage Christmas.
Christmas estate sale finds have taken over my craft room these last two years.

My name is Kim and I'm addicted to vintage Christmas.

XOXO

  2. The first step is admitting it...but then keep on collecting! Consider it an act of humanitarianism (did I spell that right?)--YOU ARE DOING YOUR PART SAVING VINTAGE CHRISTMAS FROM THE DREADED TRASH CANS. I try to do my part here in New York but I'm only one person...I think us vintage lovers should have our own holiday named after us for our good deeds. Just saying. Maggie

  6. Oh, I would be dancing a jig too! You know, the vintage Christmas you found could be considered decor for the cottage. Wouldn't it be fun to spend spend part of the holidays there! If there is heat of course. Oh, and ice skating on the lake!!!
