Downstairs in the corner of our finished basement is a former guest bedroom which is now my craft room.
This is a space I fill with special holiday collections, estate sale finds, crafting supplies and favorite childhood toys.
When the stress of new semester start-up begins to takeover, I know it's time to let lose myself in my special space.
Last night, I spent four hours by myself in my craft room.
The girls and Chris were gone overnight to the a-frame cottage and my only visitors were my two cats. It was heavenly.
I'm definitely feeling inspired for autumn fun!!

Glad you found solace in your special place. I think we all feel that crafting is a special kind of therapy that helps keep us focused and grounded and renewed. Excited for the Fall and to see all Kim's creations!
ReplyDeleteI get so excited when I see glimpses on black, orange and all things Halloween! I am hoping for a little time this weekend for some crafting! Can't wait to see what you made!

That does sound absolutely heavenly. Whenever everybody in my house is gone, I always find something to do that is just for me. No housecleaning, no laundry. We deserve it!
ReplyDeleteLove the Halloween cuteness. I am itching to get out my decorations!

Ah! Your craft room is so sweet! I love my crafty alone time! ♥
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful! I love your craft room. When younger son moves up to the Bay area, I think I will have my very own craft room too :)
ReplyDeleteIt is so good to have a special space for your crafting retreat! You are really on track for fall creations! xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteOh, I just love your collection of paper lanterns- so, so pretty! How nice that you got such a chunk of time to yourself! I used to think how nice it would be to take a bunch of art supplies to a hotel room, and just create for a weekend- no distractions, etc.!
ReplyDeleteI do love seeing pictures of your craftroom. I love the dolly dresses as a window valance. I know you will come up with something wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI have the same feeling when I go to my 'playroom'! The colors, the toys, the possibilities! Not to mention the quiet; I must admit when Mr. Wonderful took the kids to see his parents I loved the neatness that I could maintain and the freedom of being home alone too!
ReplyDeleteYou have so many fun supplies for crafting! And this is a fun holiday to make things for. I walked through Michael's this morning...getting ideas mostly! Enjoy your day! Weekend's coming soon! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI'm imaging all the fun stuff you made in four hours in your craft room! BTW, I ran across one of the metal doll houses at the antique mall yesterday. It was all in pieces and would have to be put together, but it was only $5. Have NO IDEA why I didn't buy it. Even if I just put books it, it was only $5!!! (kicking myself now).
ReplyDeleteAw, sounds like you had a great time! I just need a little inspiration myself, keep passing a Halloween store on the way home, might stop in tomorrow night:@)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see all your fall lovelies!! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a special place to spend some alone time!
