Playing...

Downstairs in the corner of our finished basement is a former guest bedroom which is now my craft room.
This is a space I fill with special holiday collections, estate sale finds, crafting supplies and favorite childhood toys.
When the stress of new semester start-up begins to takeover, I know it's time to let lose myself in my special space.

Last night, I spent four hours by myself in my craft room.

The girls and Chris were gone overnight to the a-frame cottage and my only visitors were my two cats.  It was heavenly.

I'm definitely feeling inspired for autumn fun!!

  1. Glad you found solace in your special place. I think we all feel that crafting is a special kind of therapy that helps keep us focused and grounded and renewed. Excited for the Fall and to see all Kim's creations!

  3. That does sound absolutely heavenly. Whenever everybody in my house is gone, I always find something to do that is just for me. No housecleaning, no laundry. We deserve it!

Love the Halloween cuteness. I am itching to get out my decorations!

  7. Oh, I just love your collection of paper lanterns- so, so pretty! How nice that you got such a chunk of time to yourself! I used to think how nice it would be to take a bunch of art supplies to a hotel room, and just create for a weekend- no distractions, etc.!

  9. I have the same feeling when I go to my 'playroom'! The colors, the toys, the possibilities! Not to mention the quiet; I must admit when Mr. Wonderful took the kids to see his parents I loved the neatness that I could maintain and the freedom of being home alone too!

  11. I'm imaging all the fun stuff you made in four hours in your craft room! BTW, I ran across one of the metal doll houses at the antique mall yesterday. It was all in pieces and would have to be put together, but it was only $5. Have NO IDEA why I didn't buy it. Even if I just put books it, it was only $5!!! (kicking myself now).
