Good Tuesday Morning!
Guess what? I have a little treat for you today: I'm doing a blog swap today with my new blogging friend Michelle from Dream Home DIY! After you show her a little love on my blog, be sure to hop over to her's and see one of my favorite Thanksgiving crafts from last year.
Good morning and hello to everyone here at the amazing Musings From Kim K!
My name is Michelle visiting today from over at Dream Home DIY where I,
alongside my sweet, slightly mischievous, partner in crime
chronicle our numerous adventures as first time home owners.
June 2010, we entered the ranks of “official homeowners” and have spent every waking minute,
and a few sleepless nights,
transforming our darling starter home into the “forever home” of our dreams.
Don’t let me fool you into thinking that we are even close to finishing though.
Oh no! Quite the contrary in fact!
Currently our dining room resembles a thick slice of aged Swiss cheese
due to a rather unfortunate master bathroom leak on move in day…
…the living room’s evolution into separate living and dining spaces is underway full swing (including an in-progress archway)…
…and our darling front porch is smack in the middle of a good aluminum siding strip down/re-stain…
Us two crazy kids seem to thrive in an environment of constant change.
With the list of “honey-do’s” or “Oh my, we simply must’s” growing ever larger,
and no shortage of inspiration ready at our fingertips,
it’s safe to say we have a lifetime of creating memories ahead of us.
No day would be complete after all,
if I did not, at least once, utter the phrase
“What do you think about doing this to our house?”
Sure some of our ideas are a little crazy
(the grass rug under our dining room table thought was not my finest moment)
But others have given way to a few of my favorite pieces.
…a mirror makeover and tin tile transformation with the help of a little paint, a smidge of glaze, and a bit of elbow grease…
…oil rubbed bronze door fixtures on the cheap with the assistance of Rustoleum Oil Rubbed Bronze Spray Paint…
…and a few, yet to be implemented surprises!
Day by day.
Project by project.
Remodel by remodel.
Two novice DIYers are well on our way of achieving the most important goal of all.

Won't you join us on the adventure?

Hi Michelle,
ReplyDeleteI am one of many of Kim's faithful followers. We are constantly working on our 1890s home. . .a "gingerbread" Victorian. Yep, it is a labor of love!
I love all the improvements you have made with your home. I especially love the tiled mirror. I am going to pass that along to my sis-in-law who is refurbishing my grandparent's home.

Good luck with all your projects!
