It's beginning to look alot like...

...HALLOWEEN!

Our 15+ Halloween tubs will be unearthed this weekend.
You think I'm joking? I'm not.
We have a TON of decorations.

Decorating for Halloween literally takes weeks and is a family affair. These preparation pictures were taken from the last few years of party planning.

Get ready for lots of pictures and crafting ideas throughout the next month. We've got big plans for our 20th annual family-friendly party.

Be sure to remind me of my excitement when I have to pack it all up November 1st.

Have a bootiful weekend.

Don't forget, I'll be drawing a winner for my no-strings attached Halloween give-away at 6:05pm on Sunday (EST). There's still time!

Vintage Die Cuts & Georgie's Halloween

I scanned the vintage die cuts that I picked up at the Allegan Antique market just in case anyone wants to use them on future crafting projects.

While running errands this week, I stopped at my favorite vendor's booth just in case she had anything for Halloween. This sweet book was just waiting for me.

This 1958 book is filled with all kinds of lovely graphics. I'm absolutely smitten with the owl.

Goodbye Allegan Antique Market...

Never one to let bad hair and mud puddles stand in the way of antiquing, my mom, sister and I spent a rainy Sunday in Allegan at the last Antique market of the 2011 season.

One of the biggest items to come home with me, was this cupboard.
You should have seen my sister and I carrying this beast to our van.
My arms were numb for a good 10 minutes.

It's definitely needing a makeover, but it has great potential.

I'm planning on using it to store my vintage tablecloths, candles and cloth napkins. Renee from My Vintage Mending bought a similar cupboard on this post and her makeover is simply gorgeous.

Thanks for the inspiration, Renee!

Other goodies that found their way home with me included this picnic basket.

After putting together a glitter banner, I moved the picnic basket to the front porch, where it is holding lots of gourds and mini pumpkins. In addition to this basket, I also picked up several vintage Christmas and Halloween items.

I was also very happy to spot this $3 checker board. She'll proudly go on display with the rest of my collection in my craft room.

I've already given my .50 cent bottle brush wreath a makeover.

BEFORE

AFTER

Despite the soggy conditions on Sunday, the last Allegan Antique market of the season didn't disappoint. Come April, I'll definitely be anxious for the 2012 season.

My, how they've grown...

While Chris was helping a colleague move on Saturday, I took the girls to our local pumpkin farmer for our annual pictures. We've been going back to visit this farm every year since Josie's adoption three years ago. I always look forward to seeing just how much the girls have changed from year to year.

Josie age 3, Emma age 11 (2009)

Don't they look so grown up this year?
Especially Emma.

Only a face a mother could love...

Saturday morning, the girls and I stopped by our local Goodwill to see what Halloween items might be available. Josie spotted these figurines next to the lamps and was smitten.

They are now home on our front porch nestled among the cornstalks.

Even more exciting than the plastic figurines, was this "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" board game. It had never been used.

Even Penny approves of our purchase.

Have a splendid Monday!
