Vintage inspired mini-mailboxes...another $1 transformation!

Back on this post, I showed you a few $1 items that I recently picked up from Target. As soon as I saw these mini mailboxes, I was smitten and knew they had potential for a vintage makeover.

Two of my favorite blogging sites recently shared a few of their favorite vintage Valentines. You can find the images that I used in this crafting project on "My Vintage Mending" and "ImagiMeri's Creations". I saved few of their images onto my computer, uploaded them to Picnik and used the "stamp" frame around the images to turn them into mini stamps. You wouldn't have to use Picnik, but I'm taking advantage of it's "free" stamp frames while this service is still available. Pinking shears would provide the same effect too.

I then inserted the Valentine stamp images into Microsoft Word, printed them off, cut them out with pinking shears and glued them onto the mailboxes.

I also happened to have a few scrabble tiles that I hot-glued onto the red mailbox flags.

Super sweet...don't you think?

Don't forget.
I'm having a Vintage-inspired

Valentine give-away
here!

XOXO

  5. Oh my gosh, so sweet. I just ordered my granddaughter a Hello Kitty sewing machine and am setting her up a sewing station. That would be such a cute idea. I already have the fabric panel so I could do that! Thanks so much for the idea, she would love it!

  6. Oh my gosh Kim, I just realized I don't need to use my kitty cat fabric up and could do what you did with the images! I'm super excited. Thanks so much. Now I just need to figure out what Picnik or whatever you wrote about is and how to use it! Thanks again,I just love a great idea!

  7. Sweet little mailboxes!!! I have used that "stamp" frame for all the photos on my blog this past year. Just heartsick that Picnik is going away. The two things I want to find more than anything on a new photo editing program are the "stamp" frame and the "tuna and hotdog" font.... otherwise my blog is going to look very very different come April.
