Tiny tweaks...a tour of my Christmas putz village

The living room fireplace mantle almost didn't get decorated this Christmas.
I misplaced my putz houses.
I have quite the stash, including this amazing red and white one designed by Erica (Golden Egg Vintage).
I searched through every tub of Christmas, but couldn't find them ANYWHERE!
It took Chris taking apart our furnace/storage room and moving a box of Easter to discover these little treasures.
Most of the houses were estate sale acquisitions that received fresh makeovers with a bit of new paint and lots of glitter.
Such a happy little Christmas village.

I'm glad you were found!
XOXO

  1. So pretty! You gave some a make-over? I'd be too afraid to do that to one of those old buildings.

  9. I put mine on the mantel this year too since the big tree is in our foyer. But putting the light strand under the snow annoys me, its all lumpy and they wont sit flat. How do you have yours lit?

  16. What a wonderful collection! I have a few new Putz houses but only one vintage house that I purchased at an Estate sale this past year. My New Year's resolution is to find more vintage Putzes! Love all your decorations. Have a great night, Holly

  17. My husband has put up five Dept 56 Villages (er...subdivisions, suburbs and Ice Castle community) and still can't find four 'sitting elves'...maybe they're in the furnace room behind the Easter bin!!!

  18. So good that you found them...hate when that happens and it is usually way after that I find what I think I have lost. The mantle is magical, so cute.

  20. Oh Boy! I would have been scared that the whole box got thrown away! Thank goodness Chris found it. Just today I was thinking about doing a "Valentine's Putz House Swap", since I wasn't able to do a x-mas one. A bunch of pink and red houses with heart shaped glitter would be darn cute, don't you think? Hmmmm
LOVE your mantel so much. The house you gave me last year is at the top of my putz display. Post coming soon!

  29. I just love it!! I've never been industrious enough to put lights in my putz houses, but yours look so fabulous! And, I have to tell you, you've inspired my to decorate the inside of one of my dollhouses- yours looked so cute that I decided to go for it! I'll show you once I'm done!

  31. It would have been a shame to not see your putz village this year. I only have two of them and have NEVER put lights in them (even though they have the big old light hole in the back). It's sort of one of those duh moments for me! They look so pretty that way.

  32. They are just the cutest! & in all my searching I have never even seen one! Either all the east coast crafters have snapped them up, or they're just still alluding me. Fabulous mantle, I could just look and look and look....
