Snow, Ice and Harry Potter!

It's been a wild week of extreme weather.

The snow was coming down so hard Thursday night, we could barely see across our own yard.

Friday, we enjoyed all enjoyed a day off from school and spent the majority of our time digging out.

On Saturday, we officially opened up our backyard ice rink.

It's been weeks nurturing the ice and this extra cold weather really helped get the ice nice and hard.

For my long time followers, you know that my husband loves Harry Potter and spends time each week reading Harry Potter during the lunch hour to two different elementary schools in his district.

Saturday night, was their annual Harry Potter Yule Ball.

Over 150 students were in attendance.

The decorations were nothing short of fantastic.

A truly magic evening.

Not sure how we're going to top the excitement of this past week.

Have yourself a magical week.
XOXO

How cool! I have a big Harry Potter owl from a candy company display. I have to figure out how I can ship that to your hubby. Wish we could go skating in your backyard. Caitlin has recently started skating and loves it. We go to our local ice rink but to have one in your own yard would be incredible. Have a great Sunday! I'm working on your swap item today :) so excited. Maggie

My goodness...you really have been busy! I love the idea of a Harry Potter ball. I loved the books, she is a brilliant author.

I didn't know that you were going to open the ice rink this year, I thought you would do all of your skating at the lake...but having it so close must be great.

I always wonder how you have enough time in your days to do all the magical things you do. Your family is so fun!

They are finally building a seasonal ice rink in the sports park about a mile or so from here. I need to go check it out...when we have cold enough weather for ice that is! I love the idea that your husband reads to school kids...out loud reading time was the highlight of my school days. The kids won't forget it.

You are so lucky Kim, I have been wishing for a snow storm here in mid Missouri but we just aren't getting one, or have not had one! Your ice rink looks like so much fun!
Take care and stay warm!

Oh that ice rink is so nice. I never could skate. I think it was the fear of falling through. It is cold. It has been a week of weather here. Two school days the first week after the holidays.
Your husband looks great. Love that wig.
Stay warm.

You are most definitely a family that plays together! Great role models too. :)

The snow is beautiful, but I'm glad we're not seeing it here yet. Rain, rain is all we have.
