Easter in the bedroom...

We have several faux fireplace mantles in our home that regularly receive makeovers. A few of my favorite Easter treasures are mixed with some of my regular goodies on the master bedroom mantle this Easter holiday.
The bunny tag was an Easter gift from my friend Renee (My Vintage Mending) several years ago.

The pom pom bunny on top of a felted egg is a gift from Viv (Viv's Whimsy).

The yellow pom pom chick is also another creation from Viv.  Love the pink painted cheeks.

My ever-growing collection of lantern bulbs thanks to Laurie from Magpie Ethel stays up year-round.

My shadowbox (supplies from Meri  at ImagiMeri's Creations) and pink paper lanterns have also become permanent bedroom fixtures.

A certain friend who wishes to remain nameless, sent me a large envelop with vintage Easter cards.  I've added a few mini baskets with the cards and they make a rather nice garland on the fireplace.

Easter posts continue later this week with a few more of my favorite vintage pieces!

PS.  Hang onto a few of those plastic eggs.

Super easy craft coming tomorrow.
XOXO

Thrifty finds for an Easter centerpiece...

One of my favorite finds from my shopping adventures with my mom and sister on Saturday is this stitched piece featuring two bunnies.

These bunnies are hard at work carrying precious eggs and flowers.

Aren't they delightful?

A fresh bouquet of pussy willows (also bought from my favorite antique store) are nestled inside a blue mason jar filled with faux Easter eggs.

I added a few miniature Easter baskets and nests (currently on discount at Michaels) to my branches.

Can you believe Easter is next Sunday?

I'm sure you aren't surprised, but I still have a few more Easter decorations and crafting ideas to share.

Have a lovely week ahead!
XOXO

Crafting with spools...

A confession.  I can't sew. At all.  My talented mother apparently didn't pass along her sewing genes.
That being said, ever since the Easter swap hosted by Sandy, I've gotten a tad bit addicted to making things with thread spools.

When I saw a bag of pastel thread at my local Goodwill, I thought what can I make with them for Easter?

Using a few of my extra Easter floral picks, they were embellished with a bits of ribbon, glitter, flowers and stickers and then hot- glued to the top of my thread spools.

Don't you agree everything looks better on a spoolie pedestal?  I think this group will enjoy an Easter outing on my dining room table Easter morning.  Can you guess which table setting Mr. Blue Bird will be sitting next to?
Have a crafty/thrifty weekend, friends.  My mom and sister are coming into town to visit on Saturday and we're spending the day antiquing.  It's been months since we shopped together.  Can't wait!

A few thrifty finds...

Although I had fun looking at some of my favorite antique vendors this weekend while we were up north, I didn't come home with anything.

Earlier last week when I dropped off a bag of gently used clothing at my local Goodwill, this stack of small bowls were just waiting to be rescued.

Perfect for a few strawberries.
jellybeans
or Easter m&ms

The bowls weren't the only things that came home with me.  A bag of thread spools came home too.
I'm addicted to making things with spools now...which is Friday's post.  Thanks for another crafting addiction, Sandy!

An Easter parade...

We woke up to more fresh snow this morning,  but my craft room has been enjoying a mini spring-filled Easter parade.
Lots of Easter bunnies are all lined up on my window ledge.

My childhood Bunnykins dishes mixed with a few Gurley candles.

Upstairs in my dining room, the keystone dollhouse is also having their own spring Easter parade.

Momma chick has been busy decorating a special Easter wagon.

Her busy chicks are tucked inside.

The flowers that I used on the Easter wagon are currently available in the $1 bins at Target.  I just dusted them with some white glue and a bit of glitter.

The wagon is half of a large plastic Easter egg.  It's trimmed with crepe paper ruffles.  Buttons were added for wheels.  It was inspired by my friend Viv and her darling Easter parade.

A pair of sweet birds purchased from dear Elizabeth (Creative Breathing) are also enjoying the parade.

Aren't they glorious in their festive party hats?

Easter hugs from our little house to your own!

XOXO
