It was a bit chilly outside, but that didn't stop the fun of the hunt with their cousins at my parents house.

Blessings this Easter weekend...

We actually hit over 50 degrees yesterday!

The backyard ice rink has been dismantled and is now only a few ice chunks.

Egg decorating was on yesterday's agenda.

There never seem to be enough eggs.

 The Easter bunny is getting some help with a scavenger hunt for the girl's baskets.

  Now that Josie is such a good reader, a scavenger hunt with lots of clues should be fun.   

 The table is all set for a fancy breakfast using my grandmother's green dishes.  

After mass tomorrow, we will be spending time with my extended family.

Our spring break has officially started and we're all looking forward to some much needed time away from our schools.

These tin dishes are in my kitchen.  Don't you just love the graphics?

 I can just imagine the fun these children's dishes had in a former life.

My friend Laurie (Magpie Ethel) is the Queen of holiday paper cutouts.

 You should see her blog post yesterday of all the cutouts that she recently acquired.  

I'm happy to own these three vintage cuties. 

This framed print graces my sunroom shelf next to yellow wooden Easter cart.  Such a sweet print.

The wooden cart was gift from my husband several years ago.  

Normally, our Easter bunny blowmold is outside on the front porch.

With such chilly temps this March, I decided that we needed to enjoy it in our living room on top of our entertainment center.

 This beautiful Russian egg was purchased when Chris was in Moscow several years ago.The camera doesn't do it justice.  It's gorgeous.

One of my most treasured Easter items is this cookie jar that was in my grandmother's kitchen. 

I love my Kookie Wabit in his soft pastel colors.  He brings back such sweet memories of my grandmother.  Our plans this afternoon include coloring Easter eggs.  Wishing you a blessed Good Friday!

Two easy peasy Easter crafts...

Remember those Dollar Store plastic wine glass cloches we made at Christmas?

As you can imagine, they are pretty darn cute at Easter too!  

I filled my cloche with Easter grass, flowers from the Target $1 bins and a fuzzy chick. The ideas are endless.

You can even use the wine glass base for the base of the cloche.  Just flip it over to the opposite side.
My second craft is another recycled idea from my blog, but it's so easy, I thought it was worth repeating. 

Grab a few of those plastic eggs and your glue gun!

Supplies:
Plastic Easter eggs
Glue gun
Easter grass
cardboard or cardstock
Fuzzy chicks
Pipe cleaners

Rick rack and mini flowers (optional)

1. Cut out cardboard square pieces and apply hot glue to the center of the cardboard and spread Easter grass over the glue.


2. Take a part the plastic Easter egg and attach with glue gun to the grass/cardboard.

3. Glue rick rack around the diameter of the egg and cut a a pipe cleaner in half and attach with glue gun to the interior of the egg to form a basket handle.
4.Each handle also has a tiny silk flower and fuzzy chick glued to them.  This part is also optional but is super cute.   Michaels and Hobby Lobby currently have all their fuzzy chicks 40-50% off .
5. If you are using them for place card holders, print off name tags and attach with hot glue to the egg.
