A freckled face Leprechaun!

I've got a few packages to mail, including one for my secret partner in Viv's Leprechaun swap.
Earlier this week, I went searching through my craft room supplies and came across a package of plastic freckled little boy faces that I had purchased at an estate sale this past summer.
I often pick up gently used crafting supplies thinking that I'll eventually find a purpose for them.
I decided that with some green felt, lace, cardboard and a small picture frame, I could turn this freckled face lad into a Leprechaun.
I think he's pretty cute.
Hopefully, my swap partner does too.  I've got a few other St. Patrick's day goodies that I'll share on another post. Happy soon-to-be weekend!

A Shamrock party at the plantation dollhouse & give-away winner

Have you been to Target lately?  They are selling miniature shamrock lights for $3 near the dollar bin area.
These miniature lights (along with Viv's swap) inspired me to remove the Valentine decorations from the plantation dollhouse and to replace them with a few St. Patrick's day decorations.
The miniature pot of gold is currently available at Hobby Lobby.
My Valentine doll (purchased from Magpie Ethel) has had a temporary Irish makeover with some strategically placed felt and trim held together with a few straight pins.
With our mountains of snow outside, I decided to leave the snowy base around the house.
With our cold temps, we probably will still have snow on St. Patrick's day.
This evening's winner of my Kim K. miniature-inspired give-away is Linda from LBP sews.
She was selected by Miss Josie.
Please share your postal address and I'll get your miniature roombox in the mail.
For everyone else, I love giving away my creations as much as I enjoy making them, so you can plan on some-type of Easter inspired Kim K. give-away in the future. XOXO

A Wee Bit O' Green...

Viv's hosting a secret Leprechaun swap.
With all the snow on the ground, it's hard to believe March is right around the corner.
I hope your weekend has been filled with some play time.

A miniature Kim K. give-away!

Back on this post, I shared a dollhouse kit that Erica (Golden Egg Vintage) gave me.  The papers for the dollhouse kit were so sweet that I decided to make color copies so that I would have them to use over and over again.   I spread out all my supplies on the kitchen counter and started playing earlier this week.

A heavy card-stock box has been transformed into a mini shadowbox.

The box was painted white.

I then enlarged one of my favorite vintage cottage images and put it on the backside exterior of the box and added a few miniature flowers and glitter.

The sides of the box are covered with the brick dollhouse kit paper.

The interior is filled with dollhouse furniture from a previous estate sale and a few miniature accessories from Michael's and Hobby Lobby.

I love the little milk bottles in the wire basket.

The blue speckled pot on the stove is pretty cute too.

Unlike big dollhouses, this one is easy to display and store.

In order to be entered in this Kim K. give-away, leave me a comment on this blog post.

Period. That's it.

Absolutely no strings attached and past winners are always encouraged to enter again.

 * Entries close at 8:00pm EST Tuesday, February 25th.
* Winner will be picked randomly by one of my two girls (whoever happens to be home and eager to be my assistant).

Good luck!

Mail call and sneak peek of a future Kim K. give-away!

The gifts and cards just keep on coming.  I'm so spoiled and I'm loving every single minute of it.
Thank you for the love bug and Valentine supplies, Viv.
Thank you for the pretty tag, Holly
Thank you for the China books, Pam.

I've been having some wicked migraines lately.  I think my hormones are a little confused with my "lady" parts gone. Weight lifting restrictions are still in place which means the family continues to be super helpful with laundry and groceries (not all bad) but I've been given clearance to do stairs and drive again.   Woo hoo!

With my extra time, I've been working on a shadow box using some estate sale miniatures and the dollhouse kit that Erica gave me.

I'm planning on sharing the full reveal on Friday as a future Kim K. give-away.  Stay tuned!

Cabin fever...

Another snow storm is brewing outside this evening.  Enough already!

Sunshine has been practically non-existent these last few months, and I've had a serious case of cabin fever while I've been home recovering.

On Saturday, the sun made a gorgeous appearance and we took a 45 minute road trip to South Haven to view our frozen Lake Michigan.
According to our local weather channel, the Great Lakes are 80% covered with ice.
  A truly amazing sight.
The ice mound that the girls are standing on is Lake Michigan.
The fresh air and sunshine was perfect for lifting all our spirits.  Mom, I promise I didn't do any arctic rock climbing.

Love has come to the gnome house!

If you've followed my backyard gnome adventures, my gnome house and its resident has certainly been snowed in most of this winter.
After getting the latest Oriental Trading Company catalog,  I decided that our male gnome needed a female friend to help keep him company.
 Isn't she lovely?
My mother and sister have jokingly said that with such a long cold winter, I may need to be on the look out for a baby gnome in the near future.

I hope your Valentine's Day is a lovely cozy one!
XOXO
