Hello. My name is Kim and I'm addicted to glitter.
With a bit of glitter and a stash of lovely Valentine graphics found on Meri's blog (ImagiMeri), I've been flipping .59 cent box of sweethearts candy into ornaments.
It's really simple. Empty the box of sweethearts candy and then cut out the heart graphic on the front of the box.
It doesn't even have to be a perfect heart-shape because it gets covered up anyways.
Decorate the interior of the box with Valentine graphics and paper doilies.
Outline the heart cutout with trim and then cover the sides of the box and the back in glue and glitter.
I've decided that nothing is safe from glitter in my house.

Valentines and Chinese New Year party festivities are happening in my Rich dollhouse.
I've had a few email inquires on dollhouses lately so I'm going to start sharing "which" type/manufacturer dollhouse I'm featuring because I have so many different types of dollhouses. Our gentleman friend, is busy mailing a few Valentine cards to his lady friends.
The matron of the house is busy reading Valentines from the comfort of her chair.
A box of chocolates, fresh flowers, heart garland and a Chinese lantern decorate the living room fireplace mantle.
A new friend has arrived and is all decked out in her Valentine party dress. She joins her friends in the kitchen. She is busy organizing sweets and Valentines ready to be mailed.
These ladies are quite popular as you can see by the stack of Valentines that have arrived and are sitting in the front hallway. To make the miniature Valentines, I took a collection of Valentine card images, copied/pasted them in Word and then shrunk them down in size and printed them on cardstock.
Love comes in ALL sizes!
XOXO
As hoped, Emma's friends had a wonderful time testing out our backyard ice rink Friday night.
Earlier in the week, Chris picked up a hockey helmet for Josie at a used sports equipment store and then found two more on Saturday at a local estate sale where everything was 50% off. The extra helmets will come in handy when Josie's little friends want to visit our ice rink.
Doesn't she make a cute hockey player!?! Between you and me, we all feel a little safer with Josie wearing even MORE protective gear on her head when she's skating.
The arctic blast came roaring into Michigan Saturday evening.
With the cooler air temps, we're hoping for EVEN more lake effect snow Sunday night.
The girls (and myself) are having so much fun with our backyard ice rink.
Here's a short video of the progress that Josie and Emma have made with their ice skating abilities.
Josie is a wild woman on the ice. She has NO fear.
On Saturday, Chris built a zamboni out of pvc piping, a yogi mat (cut to size) and it's hooked up to our water heater in our basement. Here is a picture of Chris putting a new layer of ice on our rink with our zamboni.
Speaking of ice skating, when Elizabeth sent me this darling Valentine card, I knew I had to do something special with a copy of the image.
Cheers to winter fun!!
In 2008, we traveled to China to adopt a toddler who needed
heart surgery for Tetralogy of Fallot and hand surgery to remove an extra thumb. I'm always happy to share our experience with SN adoption. When I'm not at work, you might find me at an thrift/antique store or estate sale. I also love to sneak in a craft project and decorate our multiple dollhouses with my girls.
Come play with me!

In 2008, we went to the Jiangxi Province to adopt a little girl who needed open-heart surgery for Tetralogy of Fallot and hand surgery to remove an extra thumb. I'm always happy to share our experience with a SN adoption with others.
When I'm home from work, I love to sneak in a weekly craft project or a trip to my favorite antique/thrift stores. Come play with me!
