Patriotic decor for the dollhouses...

With Memorial weekend approaching, I decided to pull out my patriotic crafting supplies to decorate the dollhouses.
The mini bunting is made from crepe paper that I folded and pinned into place.
The crepe paper was available at the Dollar Tree last year.  I haven't looked lately, but I'm guessing they have lots of patriotic supplies again.

The red, white and blue bottle brush trees were purchased many years ago while on vacation.
The keystone dollhouse is decked out with all kinds of miniature flags.

The mini picket fence certainly has had lots of seasonal makeovers this year.

Happy playing!
Happy soon-to-be Memorial weekend!

Curb side pickup...

Chris came home with this in the back of the van.
It was marked as "free" and sitting on the side of the road near our neighborhood.
It's getting a makeover and will take up residence in our toadstool garden behind the tree house.

He's using leftover tree house supplies so that it will match the tree house.

I've been told to stay away from the garage because it's a surprise, but I couldn't help sneak a few pictures of my carpenters in action.

A stone fireplace, miniature window boxes and lighting are on the construction checklist.

It's larger than a fairy-sized house, but Josie and I were discussing that it could be the perfect size for our clever gnomes.  Stay tuned for the big reveal.

Playing with presents...

Two more packages arrived on my doorstep over the weekend.
Heather from Vintage Grey sent me a some Texas-sized popcorn bags, a darling piece of vintage-inspired Western fabric, a lovely handmade tag and 25 Party Games booklet.

Her treasures inspired a framed Western vignette.

I strategically pinned everything to the fabric.
Thank you, Heather . We can't wait to fill up those Texas-sized popcorn bags for Josie's special party.

My other package was from Tammy (Tammy's in Love).

A box filled to the brim with crafting supplies, a special birthday banner, miniature goodies, western-themed cookie cutters, a cowboy/indians paperback filled with fantastic graphics, and special purses for the girls.

Our international adoption connection always makes me smile.

Tammy is always so good to me.

All my blogging friends are so good to me.  It's like Christmas all the time at my house.   I'm so lucky.

Next up...a "free" curbside pickup just in time for my birthday.

The never ending birthday party...

Thank you for all the birthday well wishes for Emma.
She had a fantastic 15th birthday.
It was a nonstop party all weekend at our house with a girl friend slumber party on Friday night and our family party on Sunday afternoon.

On Friday, we surprised her with a "borrowed" data projector from my work for displaying movies on a bed sheet.  Of course Josie and I had to test it out before the party officially got underway.

We also "borrowed" a popcorn machine.

It smelled like a theater all weekend in my house.  YUMMY!
Emma requested brownies, ice cream and all kinds of toppings for her birthday dessert.

Pretty  new clothes for a pretty girl.  Thank you, Grandma!

The rings worn by my late Aunt Jean were also given to Emma.  Lots of tears were shed.

Loads of presents and thank you notes await.

More celebrations continue this week with my own birthday.  Josie's upcoming cowgirl/cowboy birthday decorations are also underway. We will be celebrating her special birthday party after Memorial weekend on June 2.  As you can imagine, my head is spinning with ideas. I hope this work-week speeds by.   Party ON!

Happy Birthday, Emma!

My baby is 15 years old today!
We're having a house full of girls over for a slumber party this evening.

Josie worked very hard on her sister's birthday card, while Emma was at driver's training Thursday night.

By the way, Emma passed the written exam last night and has two more road classes before she can get her permit next week!!

Brownies, ice cream, popcorn and loads of movies are on the agenda. I'm hoping she'll let me sneak a few pictures of her party festivities.

Daddy and I love you so very much, Emma.

Happy Birthday, sweetheart!
