B is for blue boat...

We aren't leaving for our lake MI vacation until the end of the week, but our family spent some time on a smaller inland lake over the weekend.

Josie even went tubing for the first time.
Emma was very protective and we went very slow.

Last summer Chris upgraded his tiny fishing boat to this beautiful blue boat!

During the summer, you'll often find the family on the water having all kinds of fishing adventures (especially during the day while I'm at work).

My favorite part of being on the water is seeing the girls having fun and watching nature all around us. These were a pair of blue cranes that were enjoying some fish along the shoreline.

Someday, we'd love to own a place on the water.  It's good to dream.

I really love Chris's K-12 school work schedule.  The girls have the best adventures during the summer months.

Cool boat -- what fun times ahead for those 3! And Emma looks pretty comfortable behind that steering wheel -- driving is not too far off, is it!:)

Summer on the water with Dad! Sounds like the best place to hang out. And the easiest way to stay cool during the hot and humid midwest summers. I bet you are all loving the new boat.

That looks like so much fun! The perfect way to enjoy the summer vacation. I'm scared to death of tubing. I think it's the whole control issue of not being able to steer.

You absolutely can not live up north without a boat and this one is fantastic. Looks very similar to the one my father had us spending summers on. I too grew up with a lake in my backyard. Michael and I have that same dream. Each day is one day closer! Josie and Emma enjoy every minute, believe me the water will always call you back...smiles...Renee

Hey Kimmy!

Oh my gosh, Aunt Candy just went up to Michigan to visit Uncle Dane's sister. Candy's daughter Lori and her family dropped her off while they went camping up to a lake. I forget the name, but I wonder if you're all the same place?!
Thanks for stopping by. Now that things have settled down with the funeral and getting the kids back to school after the strike, I was hoping to get caught up in the blogging world.
Guess what I found out? Our new kitten, Oreo, is a BOY! How about them apples?!

What fun with that blue boat! Yes, those K-12 hours come in handy in the summer, thankfully. Sometimes we need more time than we are given to recharge for the next year.:-) xo Nellie
