In a few days, we're taking our last vacation of the summer and heading to Mackinac Island for a few days and then traveling into Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

It will be Josie's first time traveling via ferry boat and enjoying all the adventures that come with this beautiful island.

If you aren't familiar with this destination, one of the most notable distinctions is that motor vehicles are strictly prohibited on the island. The island is filled with bicycles and horse-drawn carriages.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures taken four years ago, when we last visited the island.

We stayed at the
Metivier Inn and the flowers were just breath-taking.

Prior to Josie's adoption, it was one of our favorite vacation destinations and we're excited to share this special tradition with her. This time, we'll be staying at the
Mission Point Resort and taking advantage of their special activities.

We're looking forward to soaking up the last bit of summer.

I'm taking my laptop along, but I'm not sure how much time I'll be on the computer. With my foot in a walking cast, it might be more than I originally planned. D
on't have too much fun without me.
