The never-ending birthday party...

We were finally able to celebrate Josie's 7th birthday with my extended family.
We enjoyed lots of food and drink at this party.  Thank you for making your famous pulled-pork sandwiches, Uncle Pat!
My mother made one of her very special birthday cakes.

She found the western-inspired figurines at Hobby Lobby.
I still can't believe my baby girl is seven!

Everyone got into the spirit of the party.
I wouldn't be surprised if some of these pictures don't end up in my parent's Christmas newsletter.
My Western party decor was enjoyed for many many weeks, but it's time to officially say goodbye.

Happy Trails!  Happy 7th Birthday, Josie!

Western party shopping adventures...

I did a bit of shopping this weekend and you'll never guess what I found at the Dollar Tree?!? Just look at these cowboy shaped bubble containers!!

I also managed to find these red western-style hats and hankerchefs at the Dollar Tree.

The sheriff badges are from Hobby Lobby in their birthday aisle.

The mini cowboy hats are also from Hobby Lobby in their doll making section.

I'm planning on offering bottled water/juice boxes at Josie's friend party, but I had fun jazzing up our rootbeer bottles with left over hankerchefs from my Western inspired bunting and topping the bottles with mini hats.

At a different dollar store near our home, I found these vinyl/paper western vests for .50 cents.
We even stopped at an estate sale after mass on Sunday and scooped up a few plastic horse figurines.
It was the 3rd day of the estate sale and everything was priced to sell.  After a bit of cleaning, these dusty horses seem happy with their new home.

Thank you again for this great image, Meri

Yeehaw... this sure is turning into a fun party theme!  It was a productive weekend with gorgeous weather.  I guess I'm ready for another long work-week.  Happy Monday!

My little cowgirl!

I was originally going to post about my new Rich company dollhouse (it's incredible) but when the western-style dress that I ordered for Josie came in the mail yesterday, I decided to do a different photo shoot.    I fell in love the vintage reproduction western print as soon as I saw it on the Sweet and Chic Boutique etsy site.
Although it was nearly dusk before I had a chance to snap some photos of Josie, I just had to share my cute  little cowgirl!

We're going to have some fun using her horse tire swing at her upcoming birthday party.

Giddy-up!

It's finally FRIDAY!

Happy May y'all!

As I hinted earlier, we have several celebrations happening at our house this month...Mother's Day, Emma's birthday, my birthday, our 21st wedding anniversary and Josie's birthday. I've decided to give my blog a  makeover to honor our upcoming festivities.

I just love the graphics on the pin-the-tail on the donkey game box.  All the original contents are still inside.

Last weekend, I did manage to work on Josie's Western/Cowgirl themed birthday bunting. It's a no-sew bunting made out of Emma's old jeans, burlap and red hankerchefs from the Dollar tree.

I purchased a plastic birthday bunting from the Dollar Tree.  Traced the triangle shapes onto fabric, cut them out, and then hot glued the fabric pieces onto the seam of the original plastic bunting.

Seriously easy.

The graphics are from Meri.  She's so darn generous.

The sheriff badges are from Hobby Lobby.

I'm having loads of fun collecting things for Josie's party.

I think every celebration this month (even Mother's day) might end up with a Western theme!

PS.  I still have to photograph the rest of my Allegan Antique market stash...including my "other" dollhouse and recent gifts from blogging friends.  It's a crazy work and family week with one semester ending and the next semester starting at my University.  Soon.  I promise.
Happy May y'all!
