It's too early to start carving and honestly, my husband enjoys pulling an all-nighter with his carvings. Watching him in action reminds me of college all over again. He'll be up until the wee hours on 10/28 in preparation for our festivities on 10/29.
While most of our pumpkins are the traditional orange pumpkins, I did bring home one white pumpkin to decorate. I did this craft last Halloween and changed it up this year with a miniature witch hat to cover the stem.
Supplies:
Pumpkin
Ribbon
Straight Pins
Embellishments of your choosing
Scissors
1. Using the natural grooves of your pumpkin, add ribbon and attach with straight pins. I used 3 pins per groove. One at the top, one in the middle and one near the bottom. Cut ribbon as needed until the entire pumpkin is covered to your liking.
2. Cover your pumpkin's stem with a larger ribbon or other embellishments.
3. Be sure to put something under your pumpkin if you are keeping it indoors.
We'll be continuing to put additional touches on the outdoor and indoor decorations over the weekend. We're just getting started with the tree house and the front porch.
Front Porch
Yes. That's black tulle on the front porch garlands.
Mary Engelbreit would be proud.
Have a fabulous weekend.

Wow ! that is so many pumpkins. I look forward to see those carvings! Have a great weekend. Black tulle is perfect too!
Wow -- so cute! Love all those pumpkins! I've always hated the carving part -- so messy. Generally, the squirrels destroy your pumpkins before Halloween so there is nothing left to carve! Bad squirrels! Have a fun weekend!

Awesome! You have your own pumpkin patch! I love your little white pumpkin, I might have to try that!
OMg! I'm so sorry.. but I must admit that i am in love with your husband!!! lol! My husband would never decorate for halloween! Cant wait to see all those carved pumpkins.
I LOVe the black tulle haing on the lights.. looks sooo cool! You know, I will only get about 5 trick or treaters here. were too far out of town, some of the closer neighbors might stop by. that'll be it!

Kim, Im DYING over your front porch....I only hope that one day our decorations will be as great :) We're going pumpkin picking this weekend, but Im not sure we'll be bringing home quite so many LOL
So much fun! That is a lot of pumpkins, girlfriend! Kim, your house is THE PLACE to be on Halloween! I love your strings of pumpkin lanterns with the black tulle tied on. The black satin ribbon on the white pumpkin is a really cute idea too. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Do you and Chris put the same decorative items in the same location in and around your house each year, or do you change them up and mix and match?
Sherry
love the pumpkins, both the orange ones, and the two that belong to you in that first pic.

We do the same thing on our porch, but only with one size light. I like the different sized lights and I think next year I will tray that instead!
WE are off to the "farm" today to try and score a truckload of cheap pumpkins, if this works I will never buy pumpkins any other way again.
Oh the hours of watching my husband carve the intricate designs. Seems we have two of the same. He hasn't carved for two years because of his schedule but I think this post just might inspire...love, love, love that porch. Award winning...smiles...Renee
I love the way that the tree house looks...it really should be featured in a magazine ~ just wonderful.
Wish I could share some of my pumpkins with you, every year I toss the old ones in a compost pile and let them reseed. maybe you might try that with yours this year. I do think that they need to be planted earlier than recommended.
hee!hee! That's a lot of pumpkins! He must really enjoy carving them. I hope you'll showcase the jack-o-lanterns so we can see them all!
OH MY!!!! That's a lot of pumpkins and I LOVE it!! That lantern garland is just too much!! So cute! ; )
Wow Kim, I wish my husband was that into Haloweeen. Love it! Can't wait to see how he carves them. Wish I was coming to your house for the festivities! Enjoy!
